Hinduism’s Gift to America<br />

Talk by Philip Goldberg<br />

Philip Goldberg, the author of the acclaimed book “American<br />

Veda: From Emerson and the Beatles to Yoga and Meditation<br />

– How Indian Spirituality Changed the West” will be giving a<br />

talk on “Hinduism’s Gift to America: How the Vedic<br />

Tradition Changed the World” in our Auditorium at 3 pm.<br />

The lecture will be followed by a Q & A session.<br />

Please attend and spread the word to young adults as the<br />

topic addresses the relevance of Hinduism’s spiritual legacy to<br />

western culture.<br />

Hanumat Jayanthi<br />

People in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh observe Hanumat<br />

Jayanthi on Lunar Vaisakha Bahula (Krishna) Dasami. This<br />

day falls on Sunday, June 2 this year according to North<br />

American Panchangam. On this day there will be<br />

Sahasranama Archana and a special Vada Alankaaram to<br />

Lord Anjaneya. Those devotees who would like to bring<br />

Vadas (no onions or garlic in the Vadas please!) for the<br />

Alankaram are requested to do so by 2:30 pm so that the<br />

priests may plan the decoration accordingly. Participation by<br />

more than 100 devotees in the Sahasranama Archana will<br />

make it a Laksharchana. Sponsorship is not a requirement to<br />

participate in the Sahasranama Achana.<br />

There will be no butter Alankaaram during that day.<br />

Vasthram Sponsorship for Deities<br />

The temple is accepting donations towards vasthrams for<br />

deities of devotees' choice. The temple will provide silk<br />

sarees for the convenience of the devotees. The devotees<br />

can also bring sarees of their choice for the deities. When<br />

bringing sarees, please leave them at the manager's office.
