Julie Merriman, all Dublin-based artists and workshop
facilitators.
Throughout the weekend, the artists will be running
drop-in children’s workshops where participants will
get to make their own real flying kites and sun-catcher
mobiles from recycled materials.
(Kite-making workshops from: 11am – 2pm, Sun-catcher
fibres, plant material, dyes and water to create colourful,
textured, unique and striking decorations. Suitable for
Ultimate Frisbee
Ready to try something new? Ultimate Frisbee is a
non-contact, mixed team sport played with a Frisbee.
At dlr Fusion, Dublin Youth Ultimate will not only
help people throw straighter and further, but also get
everyone involved in games of ultimate straight away.
The non-contact nature of ultimate means that size,
strength and gender don’t matter, so we look forward to
seeing everyone in the Sports Area of the People’s Park
over the weekend for a throw! 11am - 12noon & 2-6 pm
Buntús
Fun, fitness and family activities. Interactive demonstrations
of play aimed at pre-school and primary school
children 12.00noon – 2.00pm
Street Theatre Ireland
Mingling with the public will be a variety of interesting
characters. The mime artist might want to talk to
you, but don’t listen to a word he has to say! Ask the
juggler to throw his things in the air for you, but don’t be
surpised if he drops a ball or two! Everyone looks up to
the stilt-walkers – give them a wave and a smile as they
pass by with their heads in the clouds! 11.00am – 6.00pm
Comhairle na nÓg Speakers Corner
Comhairle na nÓg is the local youth council. It gives a
voice to young people aged 12-18 years and is a place for
teenagers to express themselves, have their voices heard
and organize and participate in events.
