which is the corridor group for the hinterl<strong>and</strong> of the port of Maputo<br />

2.2 Maputo Corridor Background<br />
The Maputo Development Corridor (MDC) is located in the lower south eastern region of<br />
Sub-Saharan Africa <strong>and</strong> primarily links the South Africa, Mozambique <strong>and</strong> Swazil<strong>and</strong>.<br />
The Corridor starts at the Port of Maputo in Mozambique <strong>and</strong> cuts across the Provinces<br />
of Maputo in Mozambique, <strong>and</strong> Mpumalanga in South Africa. It not only links the<br />
economic hub of Gauteng to the Port of Maputo, but incorporates growing economic<br />
