COLOR ADS
• First time color advertisers must send us
materials in advance so we may test the
delivery process and the reproduction
quality.
• Color as viewed on a monitor or output from
a color printer will not accurately represent
the same color printed on newsprint. Do
not rely on monitor display or color printer
as an accurate representation of correct
color.

The technical guidelines contain samples
on newsprint.
AD DELIVERY & ELECTRONIC AD DELIVERY:
If you are sending complete display ads to the
Telegram & Gazette, there are two very efficient,
easy-to-use electronic delivery services available.
Completed ad PDF files electronically transmitted
through FastChannel or AdSend is the preferred
method of ad submission. Only Adobe Acrobat
PDF files are accepted through these services.

2. AP AdSEND – call 1-800-2AD-SEND for
information or visit their website at
www.adsend.com T&G site code MA-WOT.
In special cases, we can accept completed
PDF ads (first time account). You can discuss
this and the alternatives with your sales
representative.

ACCEPTED SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS:
Adobe PDF with the fonts embedded is the preferred
method of ad submission.
Multi-Ad Creator, Quark Xpress, Adobe Acrobat 4-7,
Adobe Creative Suite CS (In Design, Photoshop,
Illustrator), Freehand). We do not accept Microsoft
Publisher or PageMaker files.
ACCEPTED IMAGE FILE FORMATS:
We prefer images to be at least 150 dpi for
newspaper and 300 dpi for magazine. Files with the
following extensions: .PDF, .EPS, .TIF, .JPG,.
.GIF, and .BMP formats are generally a lower
resolution than needed. Images from websites are
72 dpi and not acceptable for print. There are sites
that have high resolution images with user ID and
password information required. Ask your sales rep
about these sites. We can also investigate access
for you.
EMAILING IMAGES AND ADS:
1. A completed ad in PDF format can be sent via Ad
Delivery services listed above.
2. Logos, photos and images can be placed on disc
or emailed to your sales representative – 2mb
limit on e-mail attachments.
3. Images can be downloaded from a customer
supplied FTP site, with user ID and password
information.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCE ADS ON DISC:
• Disks can be formatted for MAC or PC.
• CD, or DVD discs can be submitted.
• The most recent printout of the index and ads on
the disk MUST be provided with the disk.
• Disk files can only be processed if ALL screen
fonts, printer fonts and high-resolution images are
included.
• All embedded fonts in EPS image must be
included.
• Include contact name and phone number in case
of production issues that need to be resolved.
• A complete T&G order must accompany each file
and/or ad.
