technician who is technically well

and effectively. As such, demand
for such certified air-conditioning

Consulting Sdn Bhd in collaboration
with school of Lifelong Learning,
Open University Malaysia (SOLL-
OUM) is now offering a Certified Air-
Conditioning Technician programme
at its campus at Nanas Road and
Samarahan Kuching.
Air-conditioning technicians are
responsible for installing, inspecting,
maintaining, and repairing airconditioning
and ventilating equipment
and controls to make sure that they
operate efficiently and continuously.
They make adjustment and do
calibrations of thermostatic controls.
When needed, they install new airconditioning
systems and equipment.
Air-conditioning technicians also clean
blowers and coils, check tensions of
belt and motors. They are involved
in making plans and designs of new
air-conditioning systems including their
installation and maintenance
A basic air-conditioning course teaches
students introductory concepts for
air-condition systems in residential
and commercial buildings. Specific
topics of study include air-conditioning
systems, air conditioning processes,
fans and general ventilation. Students
learn through hands-on and exercises.
Topics include trouble-shooting, proper
equipment selection and techniques.
