Every year thousands of students<br />

enroll in the colleges and universities<br />

in Brunei with foreigners making<br />

up a substantial number of these<br />

new faces. Similarly, hundreds more<br />

foreign students also enroll in the primary and<br />

secondary schools in the Sultanate, mainly from<br />

neighbouring countries. The main attractions to<br />

study in Brunei are mainly the high standard of the<br />

education system, usage of English as the main<br />

medium of instruction, safety of students, small<br />

number of students in classes, good infrastructure,<br />

excellent internet connectivity and also excellent<br />

health care facilities found here. In addition, the<br />

crime level is low, there is little number of drugs<br />

cases or menace and good accommodations easily<br />

available. With easy access from anywhere in the<br />

region through air, road and sea links, Brunei is an<br />

attractive destination for students and especially for<br />

parents who want their children to have good solid<br />

foundation in their studies to prepare them for the<br />

higher education later in their lives.<br />

Majority of these foreign students enroll in the number<br />

of private schools in Brunei, some run by missions and<br />

others by private enterprises. In fact, many of these<br />

students come from neighbouring states of Sarawak<br />

and Sabah who are just a short hop away and get to<br />

enjoy excellent education standard and facilities in this<br />

Abode of Peace as the nation is known as. Naturally,<br />

many private colleges have also sprung up here to<br />

cater to the ever increasing number of students who<br />
