Jersey Produce
Our prized Jersey Royal potatoes aren’t the
only crop. Lots of vegetables are grown here,
including bell peppers, broccoli, courgettes,
Jersey Royale tomatoes and rare varieties of
mushroom. You’ll taste the freshness – there
are at least three Jersey vegetable crops in
season whatever time of year you visit.
Jersey Cows
You’ll see our most famous residents
everywhere. They’re not just a pretty face.
It’s because of Jersey cows that we have
tasty local treats like wonderful rich milk,
cream and butter, ice-creams, yoghurt,
crème fraiche and organic milk.
Seafood
Jersey’s clear waters, warmed by the Gulf
Stream, produce an abundance of topquality
shellfish including crabs, lobsters,
scallops and oysters. Around 200 tonnes of
oysters are produced each year, with 90%
exported to France – but don’t worry,
there’s plenty for local consumption. You
can also enjoy simple, sea-fresh dishes like
Jersey plaice, sea bass and mackerel.
