Tiffany Chung was 5th<br />

Orchestra on violin.<br />
Kyle Chung is the<br />
Concert Master for the<br />
<strong>District</strong> 214 Honors Orchestra and Tiffany<br />
Chung is the Principal (1st chair) 2nd violinist<br />
in the <strong>District</strong> 214 Orchestra as well.<br />
Gallia Kastner<br />
Gallia Kastner recently won the annual Blount-<br />
Slawson solo competition sponsored by the<br />
Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. This<br />
prestigious solo competition featured 77 young<br />
artist from the U.S., including musicians already<br />
attending music conservatories such as Julliard<br />
and the Curtis Institute of Music.<br />
Choral Department<br />
<strong>Hersey</strong>’s OnStage group won First Runner-up<br />
at both Milton Showchoir Competition in WI<br />
and Chesterton Trojan Classic in IN.<br />
Ladies First placed First Runner-up at<br />
Milton and were named Grand Champion at<br />
Chesterton. <strong>Hersey</strong> also won Outstanding<br />
Vocal Achievement in their division at<br />
Chesterton.<br />
Jenna Borrelli was named solo champion at the<br />
Milton Showchoir Competition.<br />
Mike Perlongo was recognized as Male Solo<br />
Champion and Madeleine Brown was selected<br />
Female Solo Champion.<br />
Nicky Mendelsohn was named Solo Champion<br />
at the Chesterton competition.<br />
Band<br />
Jazz in the Meadows<br />
At the annual Jazz in the Meadows the<br />
<strong>Hersey</strong> Jazz band competed and achieved the<br />

At the Purdue Jazz Festival over 100 bands<br />
