And Can It Be
Verse 1
And can it be that I should gain an int’rest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain? for me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, my God, should die for me?
Chorus
Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, my God, should die for me?
Verse 2
He left His Father’s throne above, so free, so infinite His grace;
Emptied Himself of all but love, and bled for Adam’s helpless race.
’Tis mercy all, immense and free; O praise my God, it reaches me.
(Chorus)
Verse 3
Long my imprisoned spirit lay fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quick’ning ray, I woke, the dungeon flamed with light.
My chains fell off, my heart was free; I rose, went forth and followed
Thee.
(Chorus)
Verse 4
(solo)
No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him is mine!
(All)
Alive in Him, my living Head, and clothed in righteousness divine;
Bold I approach the eternal throne, and claim the crown,
Through Christ, my own.
(Chorus)
Ev’ryday with You, Lord, Is sweeter than the day before.
Ev’ry morning I will worship, Ev’ry evening I’ll adore.
’Cause ev’ry day with You is sweeter, Sweeter than the day before.
Verse 1
What a priv’lege to know You like I know You;
To be loved like You love me. What an honor to worship,
Truly worship from this heart that you have freed,
From the rising of the sun to the setting of the same.
Repeat Chorus
Verse 2
What a wonder to live life, really live life; overcoming anything.
What a reason to lift up, freely lift up,
Ev’ry day my ev’ry thing, from the rising of the sun
To the setting of the same
Repeat Chorus
Beautiful Savior
© 1998 Thank You Music. Words and Music by Stuart Townsend. CCLI License No. 108004
Verse 1
All my days U will sing this song of gladness,
Give my praise to the Fountain of delights;
For in my helplessness You heard my cry,
And waves of mercy poured down on my life.
Verse 2
I will trust
In the cross of my Redeemer,
I will sing of the blood that never fails;
Of sins forgiven, of conscience cleansed,
Of death defeated and life without end.
Chorus
Beautiful Savior, Wonderful Counselor,
Clothed in majesty, Lord of history,
You’re the Way, the Truth, the Life.
Star of the Morning, glorious in holiness,
You’re the Risen One, heaven’s Champion,
And You reign, You reign over all!
Verse 3
I long to be
Where the praise is never ending,
Yearn to dwell
Where the glory never fades;
Where countless worshipers
Will share one song,
And cries of “ worthy” will honor the Lamb.
Music & Arts Camp
by Phil Boehr
Music/Arts Camp is just
around the corner; Sunday, June
19 is the starting date. We will be
presenting
the musical
The Story-
Tellin’ Man
by Ken
Medema on
Sunday,
August 28.
Phil Boehr
WHO IS IN THE CAMP?
Music & Arts Camp is for children
entering first through eighth
grade next school year.
WHEN DOES IT MEET? Music
& Arts Camp is held from 6–7:30
p.m. every Sunday night this
Summer with a final concert on
Sunday evening, August 28.
WHERE DOES IT MEET? First
through third graders meet in the
Family Center at 6 p.m. and finish
in the choir room.
Fourth through eighth graders
meet in the choir room at 6 p.m.
and finish in their elective room.
WHAT GOES ON? First
through third graders attend
four different learning centers for
eight minutes each to learn music
symbols, rhythm reading, basic
piano keyboard knowledge, and
10
how the music staff works. After
refreshments they go to the choir
room where they learn the music
for the program and hear a
devotional.
Fourth through eighth
graders meet to learn the music
first and then break up into the
following classes:
· Recorder: All fourth graders
are in this class so they
have basic exposure to the
eye/hand/note reading skills
needed to read and play
music.
Fifth through eighth graders
choose from the following
electives: Please consider which
elective(s) you would like to
participate in before camp begins
on June 19.
· Guitar: learn to play the
guitar or hone your skills.
· Puppets: Learn to put character
into a puppet.
· Art: Learn basic art skills like
line, form, color, and composition.
· Percussion: Learn to play
various percussion instruments
based on rhythm
reading and stick skills.
· Orchestra: This group is
made up of those who have
played an instrument for at
least one year. They will meet

efore church time later in the
summer and play an offertory
for the program.
· Drama will not be a separate
class, but students will try out
for various narrations later
this summer.
WHY WE HAVE MUSIC &
ARTS CAMP: By developing the
God-given abilities of our children
in the arts, they will find greater
opportunities for worship and
service in the church.
Please bring your children to
Music & Arts Camp and see them
grow and serve.

Before We Speak
We are to give careful consideration
to everything that comes
out of our mouths. Before we
speak, we must make sure:
• Our words are true. (Are our
thoughts based on gossip or
slander?)
• Our words are helpful. (Are
we building up or tearing
down?)
• Our words are necessary. (Are
we finding fault with something
of little importance?)
• Our words are kind. (Are we
humble in our approach?)
• We’ve removed the log from
our own eyes.
