Branch Operations in Afghanistan<br />

Due to organizational changes in the <strong>Siemens</strong> World and in order to strengthen the regions, the branch<br />

operations of <strong>Siemens</strong> AG in Afghanistan were handed over to the Company with effect from May 01,<br />

2008. In a very short period we were able to receive orders of over Rs 2.300 billion for supply and<br />

installation of high voltage substations and transformers to Kabul distribution enhancement project.<br />

<strong>Siemens</strong> <strong>Pakistan</strong> is a subsidiary of <strong>Siemens</strong> Aktiengesellschaft, Germany (<strong>Siemens</strong> AG) which is<br />

incorporated in Germany and holds 66.10 percent shares of the Company.<br />

The continuous success and growth of your company is now being reflected in the <strong>Siemens</strong> world. During<br />

the year the company was upgraded to 'category one' Company from 'category two' in the <strong>Siemens</strong> world.<br />

This up gradation is based on size, volume and performance of Regional Companies. This is a big<br />

achievement for the company and an acknowledgment of our past and current performances.<br />

The Company was awarded “Highest Profit Growth in 2007” award in the area of high voltage at the<br />

Annual Conference of <strong>Siemens</strong> AG in Berlin. Further <strong>Siemens</strong> <strong>Pakistan</strong> won the award of “Global<br />

competitiveness (Productivity Improvement)” awarded by PTD M <strong>Siemens</strong> Germany in the 5th<br />

Management Conference held in Berlin.
