that
the
Window
to
the
City
is
open

<br />

all
kind
of
arts
and
cultural
institutions
of
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>.

<br />

<br />

<br />

The
eponym
of
the
restaurant
is
the
Viennese
architect
<strong>Margarete</strong>
Schütte‐Lihotzky.

<br />

As
the
first
woman,
she
studied
at
the
Viennese
University
of
applied
arts
and
has
been
appointed
by
<br />

Ernst
May
into
the
municipal
work
service
of
the
city
of
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
in
the
year
1926.
There
Schütte‐<br />

Lihotzky
created
the
original
„<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
Kitchen“
in
the
year
1920
whichever
has
been
taken
as
a
<br />

prototype
for
all
built‐in
kitchens.

While
she
created
this
kitchen
she
brought
forth
her
wishes
for
an
<br />

optimized
and
economized
working
process.
The
design
of
the
functionality,
the
clarity
and
the
<br />

consequent
accomplishment
accumulated
centralized
creative
tendencies.

<br />

<br />

The
reminiscence
to
<strong>Margarete</strong>
Schütte‐Lihotzky
refers
to
the
understanding
of
<strong>Margarete</strong>
which
you
<br />

will
find
everywhere
in
the
design
of
the
restaurant.
Schütte‐Lihotzky
advocated
a
functional
<br />

separation
of
living
and
working
rooms
to
separate
the
domestic
working
areas
from
the
relaxation,
<br />

entertaining
and
eating
zones.
<strong>Margarete</strong>
reframes
this
approach
by
incorporating
parts
into
the
<br />

guest
area.
Some
seats
allow
overseeing
the
open
kitchen
to
enjoy
the
full
range
of
our
exquisite
<br />

regional
products.
The
citizens
of
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>,
the
visitors
of
the
city,
the
cultural
environment,
the
<br />

township
and
the
financial
sector
are
supposed
to
receive
a
conjointly
“<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
Kitchen”.
A
place
to
<br />

get
together
for
private
events,
business
meetings,
relaxed
gatherings
and
for
interesting
talks.

<br />

<br />

Located
in
the
heart
of
the
city,
<strong>Margarete</strong>
is
nearby
main
sightseeing
places
like
the
Paulskirche,
the
<br />

Römer
or
the
Dom,
next
to
the
historical
city
of
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>.

<strong>Margarete</strong>
is
domiciled

in
the
“House
of
<br />

Books”,

located
in
the
same
house
as
the
“Börsenverein
des
Deutschen
Buchhandels”
(German
<br />

Publishers
and
Bookselling
Cooperation)
and
the
Buchmesse
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
(bookfair
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>).
This
<br />

combination
will
create
an
exchanging
atmosphere
between
the
various
companies
and
the
<br />

<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
public.
