<strong>Margarete</strong>
and
the
Window
to
the
City
inauguration
March
1st.
<br />

<br />

(<strong>Frankfurt</strong>,
February
28th,
2012)
<br />

<br />

Starting
March
1,
2012
the
restaurant
<strong>Margarete</strong>
will
open
its
doors
in
the
new
„House
of
the
book“
<br />

in
the
middle
of
the
city
of
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
at
the
Braubachstrasse.
Approximately
11.000
square
foot
will
<br />

be
available
to
the
guests.
The
concept
of
the
restaurant
is
divided
in
several
parts,
finding
the
cafe
<br />

and
bar
in
the
front
area
with
70
seats
available
in‐and
outside.
Here,
coffee
specialties,
sodas
and
all
<br />

kind
of
drinks,
homemade
cakes,
a
variety
of
breakfast
specialties
and
little
bistro
dishes
will
be
<br />

served.
The
restaurant
in
the
back
area
seats
80
indoor
and
additional
80
seats
available
outdoors
in
<br />

the
courtyard.
Here
lunch
and
dinner
will
be
served
with
an
alternating
menu.
Lunch
is
a
variety
of
<br />

different
dishes
with
a
short
period
of
preparation.
In
the
evening
within
a
decelerate
atmosphere
<br />

full‐course
menus
as
well
as
single
dishes
are
available.
Always
providing
high
quality
products,
the
<br />

price
range
varies
for
a
single
dish
to
an
exclusive
full‐course
menu.

<br />

<br />

As
defined
by
the
<strong>Margarete</strong>,
cooking
means
to
interpret
local‐traditional
cooking
with
market‐fresh
<br />

products
and
develop
these
furthermore.
<br />

The
chefs
attach
importance
to
top‐quality
products
which
continuously
will
be
used
according
to
the

<br />

seasons.
The
menus
are
created
from
two
executive
chefs,
on
equal
terms.

Both
have
gained
<br />

intensive
experience
in
high‐class
restaurants,
i.e.
Villa
Metzler.
Mr.
Bolz
has
been
awarded
by
the
<br />

Gourmet
Guide
Gault
Millau
as
the
pastry
chef
of
the
year
2010.
After
that
he
has
been
sous‐chef
at
<br />

a
well‐respected
restaurant
Bean
&
Beluga
in
Dresden.
Luka
Spanjol‐Simunelic
worked
at
the
<br />

<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
restaurants
Cyrano,
Tigerpalast
and
Villa
Merton
all
of
which
are
famous
restaurants
in
<br />

<strong>Frankfurt</strong>.
<strong>Margarete</strong>
is
open
from
7.30
am
until
late
night.

<br />

<br />

<br />

The
gastronomic
infrastructure
is
completed
with
a
supplement
of
a
multifunctional
exhibition
and
<br />

event
room
the
„Window
to
the
city“.
It’s
program
focuses
on
the
literary
aspects
of
the
<strong>Margarete</strong>
<br />

where
upon
the
unique
architectural
and
logistic
constellation
sets
a
course.

<br />

Immediately
seen
through
the
panorama
windows,
one
enters
the
exhibition
room
through
the
<br />

restaurant.
It
is
open
for
visitors
from
early
morning
to
night
according
to
the
opening
hours
of
the
<br />

restaurant.
The
concept
aims
for
a
non
academic
intermediation
of
the
history
of
literature
and
<br />

publishing.

Although
founded
in
a
cooperation
pro
bono
public
at
the
Goethe‐University
and
thence
<br />

looked
after
by
Wolfgang
Schopf
and
Vera
Kern.

<br />

<br />

<br />

<br />

In
the
first
exhibition
you
will
find
writings
of
Thomas
Meinecke
and
Alexander
Kluge
as
well
as

of
Ror

F.K.

and
Horst

<br />

At
the
same
time
the
Börsenverein
des
Deutschen

will
embody
several
cultural
<br />

initiatives.
Already
announced
are
programs
for
the
book
fair,
the
German
Book
Price
and
the
<br />

Stiftung

–
Foundation

<br />

Within
the
coherence
of

MAKING
HISTORY
von
RAY
2012
photographie
projects,
the
exhibition
from
<br />

the
works
of
the
New
York
fotographer
Frank
Schramm
show
that
the
Window
to
the
City
is
open
for
<br />

all
kind
of
arts
and
cultural
institutions
of
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>.

<br />

<br />

<br />

The
eponym
of
the
restaurant
is
the
Viennese
architect
<strong>Margarete</strong>
Schütte‐Lihotzky.

<br />

As
the
first
woman,
she
studied
at
the
Viennese
University
of
applied
arts
and
has
been
appointed
by
<br />

Ernst
May
into
the
municipal
work
service
of
the
city
of
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
in
the
year
1926.
There
Schütte‐<br />

Lihotzky
created
the
original
„<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
Kitchen“
in
the
year
1920
whichever
has
been
taken
as
a
<br />

prototype
for
all
built‐in
kitchens.

While
she
created
this
kitchen
she
brought
forth
her
wishes
for
an
<br />

optimized
and
economized
working
process.
The
design
of
the
functionality,
the
clarity
and
the
<br />

consequent
accomplishment
accumulated
centralized
creative
tendencies.

<br />

<br />

The
reminiscence
to
<strong>Margarete</strong>
Schütte‐Lihotzky
refers
to
the
understanding
of
<strong>Margarete</strong>
which
you
<br />

will
find
everywhere
in
the
design
of
the
restaurant.
Schütte‐Lihotzky
advocated
a
functional
<br />

separation
of
living
and
working
rooms
to
separate
the
domestic
working
areas
from
the
relaxation,
<br />

entertaining
and
eating
zones.
<strong>Margarete</strong>
reframes
this
approach
by
incorporating
parts
into
the
<br />

guest
area.
Some
seats
allow
overseeing
the
open
kitchen
to
enjoy
the
full
range
of
our
exquisite
<br />

regional
products.
The
citizens
of
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>,
the
visitors
of
the
city,
the
cultural
environment,
the
<br />

township
and
the
financial
sector
are
supposed
to
receive
a
conjointly
“<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
Kitchen”.
A
place
to
<br />

get
together
for
private
events,
business
meetings,
relaxed
gatherings
and
for
interesting
talks.

<br />

<br />

Located
in
the
heart
of
the
city,
<strong>Margarete</strong>
is
nearby
main
sightseeing
places
like
the
Paulskirche,
the
<br />

Römer
or
the
Dom,
next
to
the
historical
city
of
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>.

<strong>Margarete</strong>
is
domiciled

in
the
“House
of
<br />

Books”,

located
in
the
same
house
as
the
“Börsenverein
des
Deutschen
Buchhandels”
(German
<br />

Publishers
and
Bookselling
Cooperation)
and
the
Buchmesse
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
(bookfair
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>).
This
<br />

combination
will
create
an
exchanging
atmosphere
between
the
various
companies
and
the
<br />

<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
public.

<br />

Under

<br />

In

Due
to
the
overwhelming
success
the

been
extended
for
several
more
weeks.
<br />

Simon

the
most,
the
“Blumen”
is
located
on
historical

and
serves
<br />

top‐notch
menus
and

Simon
Horn
is
well
established
in
the
<strong>Frankfurt</strong>
<br />

gastronomy
scenery.
The
restaurant
has
been
awarded
several
times
for
best
food
and
great
service.
<br />

Additionally
Simon
Horn
and
Raffaela
Schöbel
founded
the
very
successful
catering
service
“Blumen
<br />

unterwegs”
(Blumen
on
the
way).
A
catering
service
of
its
own
kind,
approaching
the
holistic
<br />

oriented
basis
of
the
food.
In
the
past
the
team
around
Simon
Horn
and
Raffaela
Schöbel
have
<br />

managed
several
major
projects
like
creating
from
scratch
a
restaurant
for
six
weeks
in
the
Historic
<br />

Villa
Metzler,
the
entertainment
of
thousands
of
fair
visitors
for
a
trade
show
as
well
as
numerous
<br />

activities
and
performances
of
high
class
gastronomy
for
business
meetings
and
private
events.

<br />

Now
then:
The
