wired to the engine block heater through a switch to be located in the electrical compartment. It shall also be
wired to a 115 Volt Broan 1000 watt minimum, with internal thermostat, which shall be installed in the face of
the squad bench at the head end. There is to be a light and buzzer alarm system which shall sound and light up
when the shoreline is connected and the ignition turned on.
This wiring shall comply with AMD Standard 009.

Rear Control Switch Panel
All switches and controls for the patient compartment including those for the heat and air units shall be
located on a service panel in the action area. These switches shall be of the same design and construction as
found on the front control switch panel. The panel shall be connected to the electronic control module by a
computer cable. The panel shall include but not be limited to, controls for patient compartment dome lights,
fluorescent lights, action area light, vacuum system, electric oxygen solenoid, three-light silent intercom, and
three spare switches for future use. The switch for the vacuum system must be red in color as opposed to all
the rest being standard black. These switches shall not be activated unless the "MASTER" switch on the front
control switch panel is in the "ON" position. There shall also be a digital 12/24 hour clock with a timer
function incorporated into the rear switch panel.

Marking of Switches, Indicators and Control Devices
All switches, indicators and control devices supplied by the ambulance manufacturer shall employ
permanently engraved translucent labels. Backlighting shall be activated when the "MASTER" switch is on.
Decals or other "stick on" type labels are NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Door Open Warning Module
All door open warning switches will be wired through individual circuits directly to a solid-state LED diagnostic
board. There will be individual circuit connections with individual LED circuit indicators for identifying switch
or circuit failures. This module will be located in the ECC. An audible alarm will be mounted in the front
