Formerly Dean <strong>of</strong> the Faculty <strong>of</strong> Education and <strong>Pr<strong>of</strong>essor</strong> <strong>of</strong> Education in the Centre for Educational Needs at the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

Manchester, <strong>Peter</strong> <strong>Pumfrey</strong> is an Emeritus <strong>Pr<strong>of</strong>essor</strong> <strong>of</strong> Education <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Manchester and currently Honorary and Visiting<br />

<strong>Pr<strong>of</strong>essor</strong> at the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Worcester</strong> Institute <strong>of</strong> Education Centre for Education and Inclusion.<br />

He is a Fellow <strong>of</strong> the British Psychological Society and a Chartered Psychologist. <strong>Pr<strong>of</strong>essor</strong> <strong>Pumfrey</strong> is an elected member <strong>of</strong> the Council <strong>of</strong> the Dyslexia Action (The Dyslexia<br />

Institute) and a Vice-President <strong>of</strong> the British Dyslexia Association. To date, <strong>Pr<strong>of</strong>essor</strong> <strong>Pumfrey</strong> has published 90 papers in refereed academic and pr<strong>of</strong>essional journals,<br />

written, co-authored edited and co-edited 31 books and monographs and authored 69 chapters in books. Since 1986 he has also published 51 Review papers and individual<br />

book reviews.<br />
