Introductory remarks This Appendix contains the special requirements mentioned in Chapter 6 of the Guidelines for preparation and use of CSS. Unless otherwise specified in this Appendix, the general provisions of the Guidelines apply. 2. Requirements for CSS a) Annual load As CSS are produced selectively, it is possible to affect their composition. The requirements for CSS limit the permissible annual load of certain heavy metals and other pollutants. So that modification of the plant and its mode of operation can comply with the new guidance values, the permissible annual load is reduced in two steps according to Table A II/1. For heavy metals not specified there, the guidance values in Section 3.2, Table 1, column A, of the Guidelines apply. Tab.
