<strong>2010</strong> -<strong>2011</strong><br />

Message from <strong>the</strong> Commodore<br />

The <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Boat</strong> <strong>Club</strong> is proud to announce <strong>the</strong> <strong>Jebsen</strong><br />

<strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Waglan</strong> Race <strong>Series</strong> <strong>2010</strong>-<strong>2011</strong>.<br />

I would like to thank <strong>Jebsen</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> for <strong>the</strong>ir continued<br />

support of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Series</strong>.<br />

The <strong>Waglan</strong> <strong>Series</strong> is held over <strong>the</strong> late summer and winter<br />

months and usually rewards competitors with ideal<br />

sailing conditions. The series is <strong>the</strong> premier racing event<br />

of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Aberdeen</strong> <strong>Boat</strong> <strong>Club</strong>, and comprises a mixture of<br />

island and geometric courses in <strong>the</strong> interesting waters on<br />

<strong>the</strong> south side of Hong Kong Island. Prize giving will be<br />

held immediately after each race in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Waglan</strong> Bar.<br />

I trust you will enjoy <strong>the</strong> hospitality of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Club</strong> both at<br />

Middle Island and <strong>the</strong> Main <strong>Club</strong>house before and after <strong>the</strong><br />

races.<br />

Wishing all competitors safe racing and fair winds.<br />

Message from <strong>the</strong> Sponsor<br />

<strong>Jebsen</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> is very pleased to be <strong>the</strong> major sponsor of<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Waglan</strong> <strong>Series</strong> for <strong>the</strong> third consecutive year.<br />

The <strong>Jebsen</strong> <strong>Marine</strong> <strong>Waglan</strong> <strong>Series</strong> coincides with <strong>the</strong> best<br />

sailing period in Hong Kong between October and April.<br />

The waters south of Hong Kong island can be very<br />

challenging, presenting some of <strong>the</strong> toughest moments<br />

in <strong>the</strong> winter months with low temperatures and humid<br />

conditions.<br />

It is great to see <strong>the</strong> high level of enthusiasm from <strong>the</strong><br />

owners, skippers and crew of <strong>the</strong> yachts participating.<br />

The intensity of racing is getting higher, and <strong>the</strong> yachts<br />

don’t fight for minutes but for seconds on corrected time,<br />

all very exciting.<br />

We wish all competitors safe, fast and fun racing.<br />

See you on <strong>the</strong> water and at prize giving!<br />
