FEES: $10 daily pass; $100 single season<br />
pass; $150 single-family pass.<br />

In 1979, the Rapid Angels<br />
Motorcycle Club wanted to develop<br />
some land just south <strong>of</strong> Rome in<br />
central <strong>Wisconsin</strong> solely for <strong>of</strong>f-road<br />
riding. The club owned twenty<br />
acres in the area, but<br />
wanted to add more to<br />
produce a larger , more<br />
varied riding area.<br />
The concept<br />
hinged on securing funds<br />
from the <strong>Wisconsin</strong> DNR’s<br />
Motorcycle Recreation<br />
Program (MRP) to acquire land<br />
and build the park. Back in the late<br />
1960s, the MRP was legislated to provide<br />
financial assistance to local governments<br />
for the acquisition, operation<br />
and maintenance <strong>of</strong> public <strong>of</strong>f-highway<br />
motorcycle riding areas. An additional<br />
$2 fee for motorcycle registrations generated<br />
funds for the program.<br />
The club pitched the concept to<br />
the Township <strong>of</strong> Rome. Officials liked<br />
the idea and after several meetings,<br />
approved it. With that, Rome became<br />
the first town in <strong>Wisconsin</strong> to develop<br />
a motorcycle recreational area with<br />
