TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS<br />
1. The tech<strong>nic</strong>al specifications shall be <strong>the</strong> specifications detailed <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> publication<br />
“SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD AND BRIDGE WORKS” (Fourth Revision, 2001) <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry <strong>of</strong><br />
Road Transport and Highway’s published by <strong>the</strong> Indian Roads Congress with its latest amendments. The<br />
provisions/stipulations for various item <strong>of</strong> works as may be relevant to <strong>the</strong> job/work package are as detailed<br />
at Annexure-A<br />
Note:-<br />
The tech<strong>nic</strong>al specification conta<strong>in</strong> here<strong>in</strong> shall be read <strong>in</strong> conjunction with <strong>the</strong> various o<strong>the</strong>r<br />
documents form<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> bid. These specifications shall apply to all <strong>the</strong> works as are required to be executed<br />
under <strong>the</strong> contract.<br />
Unless o<strong>the</strong>rwise stipulated, all <strong>the</strong> works will have to be executed conform<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> clauses <strong>of</strong><br />
MORT&H’s specification for road & bridge works (4 th Revision, latest edition). In <strong>the</strong> absence <strong>of</strong> any<br />
def<strong>in</strong>ite clauses/Provisions/specifications on any particular issue/item <strong>of</strong> works <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> MORT&H’s<br />
specification, reference may be made to <strong>the</strong> IRC Code (updated). IS Codes may also be referred where IRC<br />
Codes are silent on that issue/item <strong>of</strong> work. Where even IS Codes are silent, <strong>the</strong> DGBR SSR specifications<br />
are to be followed. If none <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> above can be applied, <strong>the</strong> construction <strong>of</strong> works will have to be executed<br />
conform<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> sound Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g practice as approved by <strong>the</strong> Eng<strong>in</strong>eer. In case <strong>of</strong> any dispute aris<strong>in</strong>g out<br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>terpretations on <strong>the</strong> above, <strong>the</strong> decision <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Eng<strong>in</strong>eer shall be f<strong>in</strong>al and b<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>the</strong> contractor.<br />
The words like contract, contractor, Eng<strong>in</strong>eer, Employer, works and worksite used <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
specification shall be considered to have <strong>the</strong> mean<strong>in</strong>g as understood from <strong>the</strong> def<strong>in</strong>itions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se terms given<br />
<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> condition <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> contract.<br />
