13. The Bid price to be rounded <strong>of</strong>f at grand total amount arrived at after multiplication and summ<strong>in</strong>g up from<br />

detailed item wise rate and quantities to <strong>the</strong> nearest rupee by ignor<strong>in</strong>g paise below fifty and to next rupee for amount<br />

with fifty paise or more. The rank<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> f<strong>in</strong>ancial bid/comparative statement shall be based upon <strong>the</strong> rounded bid<br />

price.<br />

16 The work will be executed as per Tech<strong>nic</strong>al Note <strong>of</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry, New Delhi‟ s for this package.<br />

17. Collection <strong>of</strong> materials on <strong>the</strong> road sides should be so planned that it should commensurate with <strong>the</strong> physical<br />

progress <strong>of</strong> works and <strong>the</strong> collected materials should not cause any h<strong>in</strong>drance to <strong>the</strong> traffic. It must be ensured that<br />

contractor arranges for separate land for storage <strong>of</strong> road construction materials and mach<strong>in</strong>ery and <strong>the</strong>se shall not be<br />

allowed to be stacked on roadside.<br />

18. Bitumen used for <strong>the</strong> work shall be heated <strong>in</strong> boilers only and not <strong>in</strong> drums on open fire. Spray<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> bitumen<br />

wherever necessary should be done only with <strong>the</strong> mecha<strong>nic</strong>al sprayers and premix<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> bitumen and stone aggregates<br />

should be done only <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> proper mecha<strong>nic</strong>al mixture/ hot mix plant.<br />

19. No work beyond <strong>the</strong> scope <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> sanctioned estimate lead<strong>in</strong>g ei<strong>the</strong>r to <strong>in</strong>crease <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> scope <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> work or<br />

change <strong>in</strong> specifications should be undertaken without obta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g prior written approval.<br />

20. The work shall be executed as per M<strong>in</strong>istry’s specifications for Road & Bridges works (4 th Revision, 2001)<br />

and <strong>in</strong>structions issued by this M<strong>in</strong>istry from time to time. Deviation <strong>in</strong> specifications for any works should be got<br />

approved from <strong>the</strong> Employer before adopt<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> same.<br />

21. The work is to be carried out <strong>in</strong> accordance with <strong>the</strong> handbook <strong>of</strong> quality control for construction <strong>of</strong> Roads<br />

& Runways (2 nd Revision) IRC-SP-11,1988, observ<strong>in</strong>g strict quality control <strong>in</strong>structions conta<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry’s letter<br />

No.NH-III/P/1/83, dtd. 19-04-84 and permanent records ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>the</strong>re<strong>of</strong>.<br />

22. The selection <strong>of</strong> grade <strong>of</strong> bitumen to be used for <strong>the</strong> work shall be as per guidel<strong>in</strong>es issued vide M<strong>in</strong>istry’s<br />

circular No.RW/NH-33044/3/98-(S&R), dtd. 04-11-<strong>99</strong>. No bitumen should be used <strong>in</strong> which is hav<strong>in</strong>g a s<strong>of</strong>ten po<strong>in</strong>t<br />

<strong>of</strong> less than 45 degree centigrade as per M<strong>in</strong>istry’s direction issued vide letter No.RW/NH-35074/7/2001-S&R(R)<br />

dtd. 03-04-01.<br />

23. Dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> course <strong>of</strong> execution <strong>of</strong> work, traffic management shall be done <strong>in</strong> accordance with <strong>the</strong> guidel<strong>in</strong>es<br />

conta<strong>in</strong>ed <strong>in</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry’s letter No.RW/NH-11060/1/1<strong>99</strong>8-DO.1, dtd. 07-10-87 and IRC:SP-55-2001” Guidel<strong>in</strong>es on<br />

safety <strong>in</strong> construction zone” and clause 112 <strong>of</strong> MORT&H specifications for Roads & Bridges (4 th Revision).<br />

24. The follow<strong>in</strong>g road safety materials must used dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> execution / diversion <strong>of</strong> traffic.<br />

i) Traffic cone (385mm x 385mm base) x 722mm<br />

ii) Safety jackets for labours/<strong><strong>of</strong>fice</strong>rs<br />

iii) Safety helmets for labours/<strong><strong>of</strong>fice</strong>rs<br />

iv) Safety reflective gloves<br />

v) Pollution masks for labours & <strong>eng<strong>in</strong>eer</strong>s<br />

vi) Hand hold search light<br />

vii) Led batons.<br />

25. The display boards on development activities <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> work shall be made as per guidel<strong>in</strong>e issued vide<br />

M<strong>in</strong>istry‟ s letter No.RW/NH-33044/10/2000-S&R(R), dtd. 12-08-02.<br />
