27 May - 1 June 2013
The Caravan Site - Rules and Conditions
This document should be read and kept in a safe place. Do not return it with the Order Form
1. The Caravan Site will be open from 12.00pm on Friday, 24 May 2013 until midday on
Sunday, 2 June 2013. The site will be available from midday on the first day of your stay.
you will need to leave the site by midday on your final day. Tents are not permitted on
the Eisteddfod yr Urdd Caravan site.
2. All vehicles must have left the site by midday on Sunday 2 June 2013.
3. All caravans must have a ‘dry powder’ fire extinguisher which has been maintained and is in
good working order, and contains at least 900 grams of powder. It is also recommended that
a fire blanket is available for use in the caravan’s cooking area.
4. Facilities for emptying chemical toilets and foul water will be provided on the caravan site.
Caravans without toilet facilities will not be allowed access to the caravan site, and
occupants must be able to prove that they have the necessary facilities. Foul water from the
caravan must be kept in appropriate containers, and taken from the caravan to be disposed of in
the appropriate area.
5. Vehicles and caravans are allowed access on condition that the Urdd will not be held responsible
for damage or loss to:
i) Any caravan or vehicle or property
ii) Any thing on, inside or in the vicinity of a vehicle or caravan, however it may have
happened.
iii) Any injury to a person.
6. Dogs are not permitted on the caravan site, apart from guide dogs and support dogs.
7. Only one car per caravan is allowed on the caravan site. A fee of £8.00 will be levied for one
extra car. It is not permitted for anyone to sleep in a car overnight.
8. Window stickers/permits will be given to vehicles to indicate that they have permission to be
on the caravan site. The stickers must be clearly displayed inside the windscreen of the car
and the front window of the caravan. Vehicles without the necessary stickers/permits will not
be allowed on the caravan site.
9. The caravan should be parked with the hitch directly above the peg that indicates the ‘pitch’
number.
10. Vehicles on the caravan site are limited to a maximum speed of 5 mph.
11. It is not permissible to ‘set up’ a caravan after 9pm.
12. Any noise after 11pm will not be allowed.
13. All caravan occupants are expected to keep the caravan site in a clean and tidy manner, and to
dispose of bin bags in the appropriate area of the site.
14. It is not permitted to wash oneself at the water stand pipes, and elsan buckets must be rinsed at
the appropriate taps. Care must be taken to ensure that all taps have been turned off before
leaving.
15. The countryside code must be respected. Visitors must ensure any footpaths are kept to, and
gates closed after being opened.
16. The behaviour and safety of any children under the age of 18 is the responsibility of their parents.
17. If any one of these Rules and Conditions is breached, the Urdd reserves the right to terminate the
tenancy immediately and without warning (without affecting its right to undertake any other
means that may be available). If this happens, no fees or parts of fees will be refunded to the
tenant who broke one of these Rules and Conditions.
18. If you would like a pitch next to a friend, all booking forms and payments must be
returned together.
19. Applications for the three night ‘Flexible Period’ cannot be considered as part of a group
booking.
20. The electricity supply is limited to 10amps, and if you overload the system, the supply will ‘trip’
automatically. The switch can be reset, but if this happens regularly, the supply may be
permanently disconnected. In this case no refund will be made.
21. Pitches will be allocated in the order in which applications were received.
22. Due to low overhead electrical wires, kites and banners are not permitted on the Caravan
Site.
23. Payment - Payment in full must accompany this application.
If the application is withdrawn before 31 March 2013, 50% of the fee will be
25. Open Fires and Barbeques on the Caravan Site
Open fires are not permitted.
It is permissible to light and use barbeque equipment (gas or charcoal) on condition that the
following safety guidelines are adhered to.

The barbeque should be situated in a safe location on open ground, away from caravans,
outdoor furniture, vehicles, awnings and any other structures.
The manufacturer’s instructions should be read carefully and strictly followed before
lightning, and only the recommended fuel should be used. Petrol should never be used
under any circumstances.
The barbecue area should be kept clear of other items that could easily burn and aid the
spread of fire.
Never leave a barbecue unattended especially when there are children around.
When using gas barbecues, ensure that the hoses are in good condition and that the
connections are secure to the gas bottle and cooking equipment. Gas bottles should never
be placed near to heat.
A fire blanket and extinguisher should be kept on hand to deal with an out of control
barbecue.
Barbecues should be cold before disposing of burnt charcoals. A disposal point for charcoal
and disposable barbeques will be available on the caravan site
Never cook a barbecue under the influence of alcohol.
