2005 <strong>ABIC</strong>EA STUDENTS<br />
Jennifer Beech<br />
Jennifer will be attending Endicott College in<br />
the fall, where she will be pursuing a<br />
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business<br />
Administration with a focus in Marketing.<br />
An avid sportsperson, Jennifer represented<br />
Bermuda in the U21 Field Hockey Team<br />
Junior Pan American Games in Puerto Rico,<br />
was nominated for Teen Services sports<br />
female of the year and recognised as the<br />
Denton Hurdle Middle School Girls winner.<br />
While in high school she was appointed<br />
Deputy Head Girl and participated in several<br />
conferences including the “Be About it Drug<br />
Free” Eastern Conference in Rhode Island.<br />
Jennifer is a Youth Net Volunteer, a member<br />
of the PRIDE Drug Free Group, Young<br />
Enterprise and the Student Council. After<br />
graduating with a degree in Marketing,<br />
Jennifer says it would be her “privilege to<br />
return to Bermuda and contribute to the<br />
success of international business.”<br />
Kristina Crockwell<br />
Kristina is currently attending St. Mary’s<br />
University where she is studying toward a<br />
Bachelor of Commerce Degree, majoring in<br />
Accounting. She recently graduated with top<br />
honours from CompuCollege in Halifax,<br />
Nova Scotia where she obtained her Diploma<br />
in Accounting, Payroll and Business<br />
Administration. Due to her high academic<br />
achievements she is eligible to receive the<br />
Supervisory Management Certificate from<br />
the Canadian Institute of Management in<br />
addition to the Payroll Supervisory Certificate<br />
from the Canadian Payroll Association.<br />
Kristina has demonstrated strong leadership<br />
abilities as Head Girl at Clearwater Middle<br />
School and a member of Cedarbridge’s Future<br />
Leaders of Bermuda. With a knack for dealing<br />
with figures and financial records, it has been<br />
Kristina’s goal since the age of thirteen to<br />
become a Chartered Accountant and “one of<br />
the top leading women in business.”<br />
Krystle Desilva<br />
Krystle is currently enrolled in the<br />
Bachelor of Business Administration Degree<br />
programme at Acadia University where she is<br />
an integral member of the Acadia Dance<br />
Collective competitive team, having helped<br />
them earn numerous awards and recognitions.<br />
She is also a Chase Court Floor representative<br />
and a member of the Acadia Business Society<br />
and Acadia International Gospel Choir. While<br />
in high school, Krystle maintained honours<br />
and was awarded the Headmaster’s<br />
Scholarship. She has sailed on the Pogoria in<br />
“Tall Ships 2000” and coordinated Bingo<br />
sessions at the Matilda Smith Nursing Home.<br />
Krystle, whose academic interests include<br />
accounting, mathematics and actuarial science<br />
believes that “a career in international<br />
business will continuously challenge her and<br />
establish opportunities for further growth<br />
and development.”
2005 <strong>ABIC</strong>EA STUDENTS<br />
Jamari Douglas<br />
Jamari will be attending Morehouse College in<br />
the fall where he will be pursuing a Bachelor of<br />
Arts Degree majoring in English and minoring<br />
in Business Studies. While in high school<br />
Jamari was voted as the Most Outstanding<br />
Teen in Bermuda in the category of<br />
Leadership. Having studied in Fukouka, Japan<br />
as a Rotary Exchange Student, Jamari is fluent<br />
in Japanese. He was awarded the Paget Lions<br />
award for Outstanding Student Council<br />
Leadership and the Student Leadership<br />
Scholarship Award from CD&P. While at<br />
Bermuda College, where he recently obtained<br />
his Associates in Arts Degree, Jamari<br />
was chosen as School Ambassador and<br />
participated in the “Men’s Speak Forum”, on<br />
the B-Tech Committee and the United<br />
Nations Club, where he traveled to Edinburgh<br />
to speak on the Africa Union. Jamari, who has<br />
had the dream of attending Morehouse<br />
College since the age of 10, intends to pursue<br />
a career in Corporate Communications,<br />
Marketing and World Business Protocol and<br />
says he is very grateful for the sponsorship<br />
provided to him by international companies<br />
throughout the years.<br />
Estina Francis<br />
Estina has been accepted into the Bachelor of<br />
Science programme where she will major in<br />
Business Administration with a focus in<br />
Accounting. An exceptional student in high<br />
school having graduated with honours, Estina<br />
was elected Head Girl and achieved many<br />
outstanding awards for her academic<br />
performance and community activities, some<br />
of which include the Youth Parliament Award<br />
and the Teen Services Award for Spiritual<br />
Leadership. Estina, an avid lover of music, is<br />
a very accomplished pianist, singer and song<br />
writer and is one of the musicians in her<br />
church. She also recently graduated from<br />
Bermuda College with an Associates Degree<br />
in Business Administration and near perfect<br />
GPA. Estina’s career plan for the future is to<br />
become a Chartered Accountant, to work for<br />
an exempt company, give back to the<br />
community and ultimately to start her own<br />
business which she hopes will involve her<br />
passion for music.<br />
Derrick Hendrickson<br />
Derrick will be entering his Senior Year<br />
at Oakwood College where he is pursuing a<br />
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration<br />
Systems, with a concentration in Information<br />
Technology. He graduated high school with<br />
honours and was a proud member of the<br />
Bermuda delegation at the Global Young<br />
Leader’s Summit in both Australia and<br />
Europe. Derrick has served his church as a<br />
member of both the Inspirational Choir and<br />
the Church Treasury. Currently at college he<br />
is a member of Phi Beta Lambda (Business<br />
Club) and OC3 (Computer Club) and during<br />
his summers he plays locally in the Summer<br />
Basketball League at Bermuda College.<br />
Derrick plans to pursue an MBA degree and<br />
return to Bermuda to work for a company in<br />
their IT Department, giving him the much<br />
needed exposure to eventually start his own<br />
IT consultancy firm.
2005 <strong>ABIC</strong>EA STUDENTS<br />
Jokeita Henry<br />
Jokeita is currently attending the New England<br />
Institute of Technology, where she is<br />
completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Information<br />
Technology. Having completed her Associates<br />
Degree in Arts & Science at Bermuda College<br />
and her Associates Degree in Computer<br />
Information Systems Technology at NEIT,<br />
Jokeita is well on her way to realising her goal<br />
of graduating with a degree and returning to<br />
Bermuda to obtain a stable position in a<br />
leading organisation. Able to maintain her<br />
studies while raising a young daughter, Jokeita<br />
serves as a positive role model for today’s youth<br />
of what can be achieved if you put your<br />
mind to it.<br />
Whitnii Levon<br />
Whitnii will be attending The University of<br />
Toronto in the fall where she will be<br />
studying Political Science and Government<br />
Management. Having achieved high<br />
academic honours throughout high school,<br />
Whitnii was awarded a two year partial<br />
scholarship to attend the Li Po Chun United<br />
World College of Hong Kong, where she<br />
recently completed an intense International<br />
Baccalaureate Programme and traveled to<br />
Thailand to help Tsunami victims. With a<br />
love for acting and dance, Whitnii has<br />
performed lead roles in various school drama<br />
productions and studied dance at the<br />
Broadway Dance Centre in New York. With a<br />
background in law and government<br />
management and an interest in Education,<br />
Whitnii intends to use her skills to “ensure<br />
the stability of Bermuda’s Government and<br />
that future generations of Bermudian<br />
students have the ability to experience the<br />
world and have access to the very best<br />
education and cultural resources available.”<br />
Stephanie Lima<br />
Stephanie will be entering St. John’s<br />
University in the fall, where she will be<br />
pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree<br />
majoring in Risk Management and<br />
Insurance. While in high school she<br />
achieved academic success as an honour<br />
student and dedicated her time through a<br />
variety of activities which included Student<br />
Council Treasurer, House Captain,<br />
cheerleading and Tom Peter’s Concept “U”<br />
Leadership group. A well rounded student,<br />
Stephanie successfully balances her<br />
academics and extracurricular activities with<br />
community service by volunteering for the<br />
SPCA and Lorraine Rest Home. Grateful for<br />
the financial sacrifices her father has made<br />
towards her education thus far, Stephanie<br />
intends to continue to work hard in<br />
achieving her goal of graduating from college<br />
and becoming an invaluable asset to the<br />
island’s insurance industry.
2005 <strong>ABIC</strong>EA STUDENTS<br />
Colina Outerbridge<br />
Colina is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of<br />
Business Administration programme at<br />
Acadia University where she is concentrating<br />
her studies in Accounting and Spanish. After<br />
graduating from high school, Colina obtained<br />
her Certificate in Bookkeeping from Bermuda<br />
College and entered the workforce. A selfsupporting,<br />
determined, young woman, she<br />
used this time to further her education and<br />
earn credits towards her Bachelor’s degree by<br />
enrolling in an independent study programme<br />
through Syracuse University. Since attending<br />
Acadia, Colina has been very involved in<br />
extra curricular activities some of which<br />
include being a member of the Business<br />
Society, a Representative for the Women’s<br />
Resource Centre and a proud member of the<br />
International Gospel Choir. She also<br />
volunteers her time for a teen shelter and as a<br />
member of Random Acts of Kindness.<br />
Colina’s goal is to become a Chartered<br />
Accountant and “to play an active role in the<br />
community, inspiring others as she herself has<br />
been inspired.”<br />
Sherkyta Roberts<br />
Sherkyta will be attending North Carolina<br />
AT&T State University in the fall where she<br />
will be pursuing a Bachelor of Business<br />
Administration Degree, majoring in<br />
Accounting. An honour roll student<br />
throughout high school, Sherkyta recently<br />
obtained her Associates Degree in Business<br />
Studies from Bermuda College where she<br />
maintained a laudable GPA. She was<br />
nominated for Outstanding Teen Awards in<br />
the categories of Most Progress and Scholastics<br />
and participated in the Bermuda Junior<br />
Service League Debating Championship for<br />
two years. Sherkyta, a highly disciplined<br />
individual, has been able to balance her<br />
academic career and a part-time job, whilst<br />
also volunteering two hours every week to<br />
Agape House. Sherkyta’s future career goal is<br />
to become a Certified Accountant and work<br />
for an international company, working her way<br />
up the ladder to the respectable position of<br />
Financial Controller.<br />
Kelly-Anne Robinson<br />
Kelly-Anne will be attending Brock<br />
University in the fall, where she will enroll in<br />
the Honours Bachelor of Business<br />
Administration programme. While in high<br />
school she was recognised as the Deputy<br />
Principle’s Honour Student, elected Student<br />
Prefect and was awarded recognition in<br />
various essay competitions. Last year, Kelly-<br />
Anne was chosen to be the Student<br />
Representative and Speaker for Bermuda<br />
2004 Tourism Launching. Actively involved<br />
in her church youth group, she has also<br />
volunteered her time at the Physical Abuse<br />
Centre and Matilda Smith Williams Senior’s<br />
Home whilst also maintaining a part-time<br />
position as Head Administrator for a<br />
construction company. Kelly-Anne chooses<br />
to live her life based on the quote, “until the<br />
bar is raised to the unexpected, I must<br />
persevere.” It is her goal to obtain a Master’s<br />
Degree in Management and “to become a<br />
highly respected manager of her own business<br />
consultancy firm in Bermuda, raising the bar<br />
in the business industry.”

Erika Suber<br />
Erika is currently enrolled in the Richard J.<br />
Fox School of Business Management at<br />
Temple University where she is pursuing a<br />
degree in Actuarial Science. An enthusiast of<br />
the French language she won a place to a<br />
French immersion camp in Montreal through<br />
a local language school competition and<br />
recently completed her International<br />
Baccalaureate at the Centre of International<br />
de Valbonne, in France. Whilst in France,<br />
she participated in the Model United<br />
Nations Debate Conference, where she<br />
represented her team on world issues and<br />
policies. Erika consistently obtained honours<br />
throughout high school, was elected Prefect<br />
and House Captain by her peers and<br />
participated in a variety of activities in and<br />
out of school including army cadets, netball,<br />
dance, as a member of a local hockey league<br />
and church youth group. Erika’s goal is “to<br />
pursue a career in insurance because of the<br />
limitless opportunities and possibilities for<br />
young Bermudians.”<br />
Jonathan Suter<br />
Jonathan is currently attending the Victoria<br />
University of Wellington, Victoria in New<br />
Zealand where he is pursuing a Bachelor of<br />
Commerce Degree in International Business<br />
and Management, and a Bachelor of Arts<br />
Degree in Spanish and Mandarin. While in<br />
high school, Jonathan was elected School<br />
Prefect and was a member of the Bermuda<br />
National Youth Council and the Bermuda<br />
National Debate Team. With a keen interest<br />
in the Arts he plays the cello, guitar and<br />
piano, has learnt Latin/Ballroom and Scottish<br />
Highland dancing as well as participated in<br />
local pantomimes. Ultimately Jonathan would<br />
like to work in the philanthropic arm of an<br />
organisation, a passion which has grown since<br />
working at the XL Foundation and through<br />
reading many articles on Corporate Social<br />
Responsibility. He feels that “the business<br />
world is an excellent place to begin to do<br />
some moving and shaking, so that people are<br />
not lost in the quest for profits.”<br />
Shantarrae Talbot<br />
Shantarrae will be attending St. Mary’s<br />
University in the fall where she will be<br />
studying toward a Bachelor of Commerce<br />
Degree in Finance. An honour roll student<br />
throughout high school, Shantarrae also<br />
graduated from Bermuda College with an<br />
Associates Degree with merit in Business<br />
Administration. Outside of the classroom she<br />
was an active member of the Youth Net<br />
programme, where she served as a mentor for<br />
young children. She was also a member of the<br />
St. John’s Ambulance Brigade having been<br />
fully certified in both CPR and First Aid.<br />
Shantarrae was also involved in a self taught<br />
programme where she acquired skills in sign<br />
language. During the last year she has<br />
balanced two jobs in order to save money to<br />
further her education, has actively continued<br />
her volunteer work and enrolled in on line<br />
classes to gain additional credits. After<br />
completion of her studies abroad, Shantarrae<br />
plans to return to the island and “contribute<br />
to making Bermuda a multipurpose place for<br />
business and pleasure.”
2005 <strong>ABIC</strong>EA STUDENTS<br />
Renee Taylor<br />
Renee will be entering St. John’s University in<br />
the fall, where she will be pursuing a Bachelor’s<br />
Degree in Risk Management and Insurance.<br />
Noted by the faculty as a valuable asset to the<br />
student body, Renee dedicated her time to her<br />
high school through a variety of activities<br />
including the Glee Club and the Environment<br />
Club. She has also volunteered for many<br />
worthy causes, the most recent one being<br />
Summer Haven. Respected and well regarded<br />
by peers for her gentleness and generosity,<br />
Renee’s goal after graduating with her degree,<br />
is to earn her Juris Doctorate and return to<br />
Bermuda and work as an insurance lawyer.<br />
Kevin Warner<br />
Kevin will be enrolling in the Bachelor of<br />
Commerce degree programme at St. Mary’s<br />
University in the fall. An honour student<br />
throughout high school, he received<br />
numerous awards for outstanding attendance<br />
and behaviour, as well as achievement in<br />
Design & Technology, Chemistry, Health and<br />
Business Studies. Kevin recently graduated<br />
from the Bermuda College with an Associates<br />
Degree in Business Administration and<br />
during his time there he had the opportunity<br />
to attend the 14th Annual World Conference<br />
for Gifted and Talented Children, in Spain.<br />
While enrolled as a full-time student he<br />
commendably managed to alternate his time<br />
between his studies and working part-time,<br />
while also playing football for both Pembroke<br />
Hamilton Club and the College team. Upon<br />
completion of his Bachelor’s Degree, Kevin<br />
hopes to obtain his Master’s Degree in<br />
Insurance and return to the island to work as<br />
an Underwriter.<br />
Meishka Zuill<br />
Meishka will be attending Acadia University<br />
in the fall where she will be pursuing a<br />
Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business<br />
Administration with a concentration in<br />
Finance. While in high school, Meishka<br />
represented her school at the Bermuda Junior<br />
Service League National Debate Tournament<br />
and at a conference for Global Peace and<br />
Tolerance sponsored by Friends of the UN.<br />
She also served as a member of the Student<br />
Council, and was elected Senior Prefect.<br />
Outside of school she enjoys dance as a<br />
member of United Dance Productions and<br />
has attained the rank of Ranger of the<br />
Bermuda Girl Guide Association. Other<br />
accomplishments include completion of the<br />
Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, a credit in<br />
the Young Enterprise scheme and<br />
certification in First Aid and CPR. With the<br />
continued emotional and financial support<br />
from her father, Meishka’s plan is to become a<br />
Certified Financial Analyst and “render her<br />
services to the local business community.”
