Frank Oz
Touch of Evil
Frank Oz knew Orson Welles, so he felt comfortable calling him “Orson” in
this interview about Touch of Evil. It is strange, however, that in their friendship
he never talked to the filmmaker about this “ode to the B-movie” that
changed his life.
In this interview, he describes Welles’s performance as the villain in the
film: “Orson was a raconteur. When he spoke, it was like poetry and it was
a performance. I’m not so sure that it wasn’t completely all thought-out all
the time, you know. [laughs]”
