URBAN CARDIOLOGY 

Reducing Disparities in 

Cardiovascular Care 

Target Audience 

This interactive continuing medical education activity is 

designed for cardiologists, internal medicine physicians, 

family practitioners and healthcare administrators. The 

conference will consist of a series of 20-minute state of the 

art lectures, followed by 10 minutes of audience interaction 

with the speaker, designed to answer practical questions on 

detection and management of heart disease and its risk factors. 

Educational Objectives 

Upon completion of this activity, the participant should: 

• Understand the specific risk factors for cardiovascular disease 

which are prevalent in the urban setting. 

• Know and be able to apply recent advances in the diagnosis 

and treatment of cardiovascular disease. 

• Understand the differences in management of cardiovascular 

risk and disease management in the urban population.
