Fhas retired after her five years stint<br />
as Secretary of the Association.<br />
During her time, we have made great<br />
strides forward. both in the volume and<br />
complexity of the work done, and we<br />
must all thank her for the part she has<br />
taken in this.<br />
Mrs. Inge Deen has taken over from<br />
Fraru::es on the 5th September and I am<br />
sure she can rely on everyone's co-operation<br />
during the take-over period.<br />

Soutb African NatioD21s<br />
T is hoped to arrange flying facilities<br />
I from 26th December, 1"966, through to<br />
14th January, 1967. The actual competitions<br />
will be from 27th December to<br />
10th January.<br />
Minimum qualifications: Silver C and<br />
Gold C distance. All launching will be<br />
by aero-tow and pilots should be proficient<br />
in this respect.<br />
Only high-performance sailplanes may<br />
be entered as there will be no Class this<br />
time for sailplanes of limited performance.<br />
As overseas entries may have to be<br />
restricted, interested parties ar.e advised<br />
to write as early as possible to: The<br />
Secretary, The Aero <strong>Club</strong> of South<br />
Africa, P.O. Box 2312, Johannesburg,<br />
South Africa.<br />

Eledrical Boadiag of Gliders<br />
HE Technical Committee have ruled<br />
Tthat all applications for renewal of<br />
C. of A. of Cloud Flying Gliders received<br />
after October 1st, <strong>1966</strong>. must include<br />
a statement on the INspj6 to the<br />
effect that "Bonding to Drawing No.......<br />
has been incorporated" if the glider is<br />
to retain its Cloud Flying Category.<br />
The C. of A. will then be endorsed at<br />
para. II "B0nding incorporated by the<br />
B.G.A." on renewal.<br />
Drawings for all types are beingprepared<br />
by Slingsby <strong>Sailplane</strong>s and Inspec<br />
10rs and Owners may obtain these draw<br />
Ings from the B.G.A.<br />
Parts as detailed on the Drawings will<br />

be obtainable from Slingsby <strong>Sailplane</strong>s<br />
Ltd.<br />
This notice does not apply to those<br />
foreign gliders which have already incorporated<br />
bonding. In these cases the<br />
Inspector should note on the INsp/6<br />
"Bonding incorporated on manufacture".<br />

HERE have been two or three in<br />
this year of serious ccmplaints<br />
Tstances<br />
from farmers and landowners regarding<br />
pilots who haye landed in their field, and<br />
left without cont>acting them. In at least<br />
one case the team drove their trailer<br />
across a wheatfield.<br />
Clearly the time has come to get this<br />
matter buttoned up once and for all. fvf<br />
