pawed the ground to expose the first silver vein.

First make a short detour to Wernigerode and ride the
famous Harz narrow-gauge railway to the summit of the
Brocken mountain – the highest point in Northern
Germany at 1142 metres, and wreathed in myth and
legend. On arriving back in Wernigerode, don’t miss
