Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics and the
pediatric programs at the University of Kansas
Medical Center join together throughout the year
as beneficiaries of Children’s Miracle Network
(CMN), an international non-profit organization
dedicated to raising public awareness and
financial resources for hospitals for children.
Since CMN first began in Kansas City in 1985,
more than $7 million has been raised to support
pediatric medical services in our region. Both
national and local corporate sponsors raise
approximately 70 percent of the funds donated
to the two hospitals each year, with 20 percent
coming from individuals and 10 percent from
special events, foundations and other gifts.
All proceeds raised in the Kansas City region
remain here to support the programs at
Children’s Mercy and KUMC Pediatrics.
Rocket and Teresa from radio station Mix 93.3 are shown with a
patient and his mother during the 2005 Mix for Kids Radiothon,
held at Children’s Mercy Hospital. Rocket and Teresa and the radio
station staff have hosted the three-day radiothon every year since
1999 and have raised a total of more than $2 million for the two
CMN hospitals.
2005 Donor Giving
