where to start? Do you know that walking is an easy way<br />

to help lower your risk of heart disease and stroke, reduce<br />

<strong>the</strong> effects of stress, and lose weight? Do you know that for<br />

every hour you walk you gain two hours of life expectancy?<br />

Oak Grove Park<br />

Located at N. Frontage Rd & Harvester Drive<br />

Our <strong>new</strong>est walking pathway loop is .38 miles<br />

Bird Trail Kit<br />

McCullough Park<br />

Located at Plainfield and County Line Road<br />

Walking pathway loop is .46 miles<br />

Birds are <strong>the</strong> most observed species of animals here at<br />

Harvester Park. This trail kit will allow you to have more<br />

fun learning about <strong>the</strong> birds of Harvester Park. In addition<br />

to utilizing <strong>the</strong> contents of this kit, be sure to stop at <strong>the</strong><br />

trailhead and fishing dock to view permanent displays<br />

about birds. Trail kits are available for checkout at BRCC.<br />

“This Wetland Is Polluted?” Trail Kit<br />

In this trail kit, you will learn about<br />

– <strong>the</strong> value and purpose of<br />

this wetland<br />

– which neighboring<br />

properties contribute<br />

what types of pollutants<br />

– <strong>the</strong> amazing pollution<br />

benefits of wetland plants<br />

– actually test <strong>the</strong> pond for<br />

dissolved oxygen levels,<br />

and <strong>the</strong> saturation levels of<br />

phosphates and nitrates.<br />

Follow <strong>the</strong> lesson plan and develop a better understanding<br />

of <strong>the</strong> fragile nature of <strong>the</strong> ecosystem while having fun performing<br />
