Seriatim replies to the comments <strong>of</strong> the Chartered Accountants on the<br />
Annual Accounts <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Institute</strong> for the year <strong>1996</strong>-<strong>97</strong><br />
1. No comments.<br />
2. Efforts are being made to settle the outstanding advances, on 31.10.<strong>97</strong>. Outstanding<br />
Advances have been brought down to Rs. 1,14,034.00 from Rs. 23,25,328.00.<br />
3. <strong>Institute</strong> is trying hard to sell out the old stock <strong>of</strong> publications. For this, a rebate up to<br />
50% has been <strong>of</strong>fered and an advertisement to attract the purchasers has been published<br />
in the Current Science journal. As a result a sale <strong>of</strong> about Rs. 50,000.00 has been made<br />
and the total stock has come down to Rs. 21.72 lakhs as on date.<br />
4. Stock verification <strong>of</strong> the Library is complete. A copy <strong>of</strong> the report is annexed herewith.<br />
5. Noted for compliance.<br />

7. Noted.<br />
8. Appropriation for Reserve Fund and Pension has been made as per provisions under the<br />
Bye-Laws <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Institute</strong>.<br />
