Students take classes like
welding, along with the regular
high school curriculum. At
night, adults can take advantage
of the training. There is
interest in doing this here.
What about money?
“You’ve got to start with
ideas,” he said. “If you don’t
have ideas and the want to,
you will never find the
money.”
Like Judge Greenfield,
people are trying, and are
proud of what they have
already accomplished.

Mayor Camp’s voice.
“My attitude: Be prepared.”
Elkton recently received a
grant to curb and gutter
Streets Avenue, to help with
water runoff. New to the town
are a refurbished park, two
new doctors’ offices, a charming
soda shop, Refine Tile,
plans to extend the sewer line
north of town and a
$500,000 renovation grant
for the historic Green River
Academy building. The town
is taking small steps while
waving a red flag saying,
“We’re here! We’re ready.”
Established in 1819, Todd
County is a split personality,
depending on where one
lives. Its 367 square miles are
divided between farms averaging
261 acres, small communities
and three incorporated
cities:
