74107 ATSUKO HASHIMOTO UNTIL THE SUN COMES UP All Or Nothing At All • Soul Station • So
In Love • Moon River • What A Wonderful World • Blue For Naka • You Are My Sunshine • Cherry • Your’s
Is My Heart Alone • The Good Life • Hallelujah, I Love Her So (Personnel: Graham Dechter, Jeff Hamilton)
[2010] Award winning B3 organist Atsuko Hashimoto from Osaka Japan leads a trio featuring acclaimed
guitarist Graham Dechter and world class drummer Jeff Hamilton. The group swings their way through classic
tunes like ‘Cherry’, ‘Soul Station’ and ‘So In Love’ among others, all uniquely arranged and played. Ms.
Hashimoto has a sound reminiscent of early greats of the jazz organ and chops very few have attained. She
is known for her fast glissando runs and imaginative soloing. [Item Code: 66338 CD: $16.00]
74108 KEN PEPLOWSKI IN SEARCH OF The Thespian • Love’s Disguise • When Joanna Loved Me •
Falsa Baiana • A Ship Without A Sail • With Every Breath I Take • In Flower • Peps • This Nearly Was Mine
• No Regrets • Within You And Without You • Rum And Coca Cola (Personnel: Greg Cohen, Joe Ascione,
Chuck Redd) [2007] Ken Peplowski shows his diversity on this blending of two sessions, the first 8 tunes reuniting
him with pianist Shelly Berg with rhythm support of Tom Kennedy and Jeff Hamilton and the remaining
3 tunes pairing off with bassist Greg Cohen, drummer Joe Ascione and vibist Chuck Redd. Peplowski’s
clarinet playing is unrivaled with the purist tone and most urbane facility around today. His tenor sound, while reminiscent of Coleman Hawkins
and Ben Webster is easily distinguishable as his and his alone. The tunes are seldom heard standards ripe for rediscovery and a few originals by his
fellow band members. Peplowski helps keep true mainstream jazz alive while always adding a fresh perspective. [Item Code: 66421 CD: $16.00]
his into the studio and self-produced an album of early twentieth century southern songs, the type that were
popular during his childhood. Along with pianist and arranger Paul Smith and a flock of top session players,
Freed, more) [1952-1961] 2-CD set. Crosby, a major star of radio during its heyday in the 1930s and 40s,
clung to the medium as it went into commercial decline with the rise of television starting in the 50s. He
maintained a weekly network show until 1954 and continued to host radio programs for syndication into the
early 60s, prerecording songs and patter for later broadcast. Clooney was not only a frequent guest, but also
shared The Crosby-Clooney Show with him in 1960-1961. This double-CD set presents 61 tracks in over
two-and-a-half hours, nearly all of them Crosby/Clooney duets. On the first disc, recorded between 1952
and 1958, they are accompanied by Crosby’s longtime bandleader John Scott Trotter and his orchestra. On
the second disc, keyboardist Buddy Cole leads a quartet to support them. The two singers take on everything
from each other’s hits to standards, then-current songs from Broadway musicals, and novelties, always performing
with comfortable chemistry. [Item Code: 66463 2-CD: $24.00]
