Commencement of Works on Swing Bridge move
a step closer
Following the announcement that a two way temporary bridge will be constructed to remove potential congestion
whilst work is undertaken on Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge work is continuing to finalise the programme.
Work has been progressing on the procurement of the contracts for the works, securing the necessary permissions for
the construction of the temporary bridge and undertaking essential strengthening works. The decision to install the
temporary bridge was made following concerns raised by the local community and businesses on the perceived impact
of lane restrictions and traffic management on the existing bridge whilst works were undertaken.
The construction of the temporary bridge is due to start towards the end of June 2013 with the structure being
completed by the end of Summer 2013 when traffic will be switched from the existing swing bridge onto the temporary
bridge. Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge will then be encapsulated for the painting and strengthening works to begin.
It is anticipated that the work on the swing bridge will be completed and traffic diverted back onto the bridge in
summer 2014 and work undertaken to remove the temporary bridge completed in Autumn 2014.
Frodsham Library Consultation
Moving Frodsham library to the same site as the Health centre and Leisure centre is planned to take place around midsummer,
as a result, you will have a bigger, more accessible library and you will be able to do more there than ever
before.
Cheshire West and Chester Council want to know what facilities you would like in the new library!
An online survey has now been launched and can be found at: www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/consultation
Or if you would prefer to complete a paper questionnaire, these can be collected and returned to one of the following
sites:

For every completed questionnaire Brio Leisure are donating a free seven day pass.
Hurry the closing date for the survey is May 15th 2013.

Frodsham Town Council to hold a Future of
Frodsham event, This will take place at the
Mainstreet Church from 12pm to 4pm on
Saturday 18th May.
This is a fabulous opportunity to have your
say and your questions answered on many
different topics all wrapped up in one event!
These include:
• Frodsham Library Move - Have your say
on what should be in the new library
• Swing Bridge update – Get the latest
information on this.
• Play Strategy – FTC and CWaC would like
your views on play facilities are needed in
Frodsham and where!
