<strong>Read</strong>-A-<strong>Thon</strong> <strong>Prizes</strong><br />

Pledge envelope must be turned in by Wednesday, March<br />

6 th to be eligible for prizes<br />

ALL PARTICIPANTS:<br />

Will receive a Free Ice Cream Cone Certificate of Achievement from<br />

Burger King!<br />

Can return their daily verification slips to be entered into a daily book<br />

drawing. Two books per CLASS, per DAY will be given away (Feb 25 – March 1).<br />

ALL PARTICIPANTS WITH PLEDGES:<br />

Who bring in $10 or more will receive a certificate for TWO Free Kids Buffets<br />

from Pizza Pie Café.<br />

Who bring in $35 or more individually or $50 as a family in pledges will receive a Woodland Hills<br />

Warriors Water Bottle. If turning in pledges as a family, please staple each family member’s<br />

reading log to one pledge envelope. Each student in the family will receive a Warriors Water<br />

Bottle if family pledges totals $50 or more. The reading logs of each student in the family must<br />

be turned in together (stapled to the pledge envelope) in order to count toward the $50 family<br />

total. Total family pledges will be divided equally to count toward class pledge prizes.<br />

Will receive a raffle ticket * for the first $20 in pledge money plus an extra raffle ticket for<br />

every additional $10 in pledges (example: a $30 total will be 2 raffle tickets, a $50 total will be 4<br />

raffle tickets). Raffle prizes are a 54 inch Air Hockey table and a Razor Seige Scooter. If using<br />

a family pledge total, the raffle ticket will be labeled by the family name (i.e. The Warrior family<br />

donated $50 so the Warrior Family will have 4 raffle tickets).<br />

CLASS PRIZES<br />

EACH CLASS with 100% participation will win $50 for their teacher to spend on their classroom.<br />

Plus, a bonus throw during the Teacher Pie Toss (see School Wide Pledge Goal).<br />

The CLASS in the following grade divisions: K-1 st , 2 nd -3 rd and 4 th – 6 th with the most <strong>Read</strong>ing<br />

Minutes will earn popcorn for their entire class.<br />

The CLASS in the following grade divisions: K-1 st , 2 nd -3 rd and 4 th – 6 th with the most Money<br />

Earned in pledges will receive Sno-Cones for their entire class.


INDIVIDUAL PRIZES BASED ON READING MINUTES<br />

The TOP READERS in each grade (at least one from each class) will attend<br />

a pizza party with Mrs. Starnes. Kindergarten winners will receive a<br />

book prize if unable to attend the pizza party.<br />

The TOP THREE READERS of each GRADE (21 winners total) will receive a<br />

$10 gift card to Hastings.<br />

The TOP FIVE SCHOOL WIDE READERS * will get a Woodland Hills Warriors bag AND their pick of the<br />

following prizes: (1 st place reader gets 1 st pick, 2 nd place reader gets 2 nd pick, etc.)<br />

The TOP FIVE SCHOOL WIDE PLEDGERS * (student with the most money in pledges) will get a Woodland<br />

Hills Warriors bag AND their pick of the following prizes: (1 st place pledger gets 1 st pick, 2 nd place<br />

pledger gets 2 nd pick, etc.)<br />

*In order to distribute prizes to the most students, individuals can only win one school-wide prize. For example, the same student cannot win a raffle prize AND a school wide pledge<br />

prize. Individuals in the same family can each win a school wide prize (i.e. a family can win a raffle prize and an individual family member can win a school wide reading prize).<br />

If these situations occur, efforts will be made to make prizes fair and fun for all.<br />
