The 7 steps given here will get you on the air in your first<br />

QSO right away. So, you can enjoy the exhilaration that<br />

Press the POWER<br />

switch for 1 second or<br />

longer.<br />

Turn the VOL control<br />

clockwise to the 11<br />

o’clock position.<br />

Press [A/B] to select<br />

band A or B.<br />

7 Repeat steps 5 and 6 to continue<br />

communication.<br />

Press [UP]/ [DWN] or<br />

turn the Tuning control<br />

to select a frequency.<br />

Press and hold the<br />

PTT switch, then speak<br />

into the microphone in<br />

a normal tone of voice.<br />

Release the PTT switch<br />

to receive.<br />

Note: When received signals are too weak to recognize, press and<br />

hold [MONI] to hear clearer signals. You will, however, also hear<br />

background noise.
