CONSULTATION ON MODERN WORKPLACE<br />
On 16 May 2011, the government published Consultation on Modern<br />
Workplaces setting out a four-stage plan for "a culture of flexible,<br />
family-friendly employment practices" in Great Britain. Key<br />
proposals include:<br />
– Flexible parental leave to replace the current maternity and<br />
paternity leave<br />
– Flexible working for all employees<br />
– Annual leave<br />
– Equal pay<br />
Consultation closed on 8 August 2011<br />
Response from the Government is awaited
