Furthermore all MICROSENS network components may be configured and monitored using NMP. The network management tool operates with the aid of lists of devices that permit network components to be grouped together on the basis of a tree diagram. When ring topology is used the groups are automatically generated using the rings while global settings are simultaneously assigned. In the Professional version the NMP has an integrated topology manager which especially enables the rings to be managed in a clear manner. In addition to general operating parameters, targeted monitoring of ring ports and their connections is possible. With the server version the NMP is operated on a central server, the access from the clients is done via a web interface. Up to 30 clients can access the server in parallel. For higher demands the NMP server can be operated redundant in the network.
