<strong>Requirements</strong><br />
Dietary Restrictions and <strong>Requirements</strong><br />
It is important that we are given accurate information so that we can<br />
meet any individual requirements. Although we can usually<br />
accommodate last minute changes, this can be embarrassing for both<br />
the guest and for the host.<br />
For your information, a few guidance notes are included, Dietary<br />
requirements can be spilt into two groups: Religious and<br />
Medical/Health.<br />
Religious<br />
A) Jewish: Generally there are two main groups:<br />
Those who normally eat only plain fruit, vegetables and grilled or<br />
poached fish (no monkfish). Those who follow a traditional Jewish<br />
kitchen, in this case we have a supplier <strong>of</strong> kosher meals and they will<br />
supply the meal, cutlery, china and glasses. At no time must we touch<br />
these items, so the guest will expect to unpack his/her meal<br />
themselves.<br />
B) Islam: In general, Muslims will not eat pork or drink alcohol and<br />
may not eat lunch during the feast <strong>of</strong> Ramadan.<br />
C) Hindu: In general, Hindus will not eat beef or veal.<br />
Medical/ Health<br />
A) Vegetarian: in general will not eat meat, but may eat fish. They<br />
will usually eat vegetarian cheese, eggs, butter and milk, but please<br />
check.<br />
B) Vegan: in general will not eat any animal products including butter,<br />
cheese and milk.<br />
C) Diabetics: have to eat meals at regular intervals, and may focus<br />
on diet and sugar free items, but will eat most things.<br />
D) Gluten Free: not allowed to eat any cereal or grain products. It is<br />
best to ask the guest to suggest something, as this can be a<br />
particularly restrictive diet.<br />
E) Lactose Free: not allowed any milk products.<br />

Introduction<br />
Our head chef and his team have designed these menus<br />
specifically for the <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Worcester</strong>. The menus<br />
contained within this selector are intended as a guide only<br />
and I am happy to advise on any specific catering<br />
requirements, including religious and dietary needs.<br />
Please use the order codes printed in this brochure when<br />
filling out your catering request from – which can be found<br />
at the side <strong>of</strong> each item.<br />

Please note:<br />
All items are subject to availability.<br />
Please allow 72hours notice for the ordering <strong>of</strong> food items.<br />
If food items are required at short notice the content may<br />
change subject to availability and the chef’s choice will be<br />
provided.<br />
Due to health & Safety regulations all deliveries made<br />
outside <strong>of</strong> the main building or without lift access will be<br />
delivered with disposable cups, plates etc.<br />
Cancellations:<br />
Should you need to cancel a booking please telephone the<br />
catering team on extension 5179. Cancellations made<br />
within 24 hours <strong>of</strong> the booking may be subject to charge.<br />
‘Help us to Give You Good Service’:<br />
When you book your catering please remember to order<br />
your table/s with the porters as we cannot always leave<br />
trolleys in rooms..<br />
When you have finished your function we would be grateful<br />
if you could leave ALL equipment, crockery etc used for<br />
your function in the room it was delivered to. Our<br />
equipment & crockery is increasingly being removed from<br />
the room which consequently leaves the department<br />
struggling to provide services to other hospitality bookings.<br />
Where equipment has been removed, the organiser will be<br />
charged for the cost <strong>of</strong> its replacement.
