Secure Communication
The first line of security is to authenticate the user who is accessing the
CiscoWorks server. The authentication method can include: local authentication,
TACACS+, RADIUS, or additional methods. After authentication, the
communication between the client and server can be secured for specific modules
using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol to encrypt the data. The other link
that can be secured occurs between the CiscoWorks server and remote devices,
which is handled using SSH or Secure Shell (for some modules).
