Fierce did all day that battle wage,<br />

More furious grew ;<br />

that Manito,<br />

So all complete<br />

In wampum clad <strong>from</strong> head to feet.<br />

Thick fell <strong>the</strong> bloAvs <strong>the</strong> arrows sped<br />

Cried Manabo-zho "You !" he said,<br />

As he let fly straight at that spot,<br />

a third did draw<br />

Full on his head,<br />

And down that Manito fell dead.
