Was Oweenee, so lovely grown ;<br />

Or like <strong>the</strong> Swan with glistening plumes,<br />

So new her snowy<br />

kirtle shone.<br />

" Her bowls no longer were <strong>of</strong> wood.<br />

Her kettles all like silver showed ;<br />

<strong>The</strong> barky lodge that glimmering stood,<br />

Like flaming wings, it swayed <strong>and</strong> glowed.<br />

" <strong>The</strong>n heard <strong>the</strong>y far-<strong>of</strong>f voices call,<br />

That through <strong>the</strong> twilight tender fell :<br />
