A very crude assessment <strong>of</strong> responsibility within Britain has also been made by<br />

comparing the number <strong>of</strong> hectads occupied by each taxon in <strong>Wales</strong> with those in Britain.<br />

From the total British figure, a simple proportion <strong>of</strong> hectads that occur in <strong>Wales</strong> was<br />

calculated. Where possible, adjustments have been made for hectads that straddle the<br />

English-<strong>Welsh</strong> border. Any taxon for which <strong>Wales</strong> has 20% or more <strong>of</strong> the GB population<br />

whether threatened or not in <strong>Wales</strong> is listed in Table 10.<br />
