Birthday & Wedding Anniversary thanks–giving prayers will be held during the Holy
Communion Services.
Our Vicar, Joy Achen, is to leave us on 28 th April 2012 (Kuwait Airways KU-0331, 8:50
pm) to take up another challenging assignment back in his beloved country. When he
leaves the shore of Kuwait he leaves with our respect, our love, and a very large
thank you for the job he has completed over the period. May the God Almighty bless
Achen, Kochamma, daughter Feba, son Joji and Jojo. As a matter of respect and love,
our Vicar was given a touching farewell on 25 th April 2012 after the Holy Communion
Service. Ahmadi St. Paul’s Church was filled with parishioners wanting to say their
goodbye to their beloved Achen and family. Rev. Johnny Andrews (CSI Vicar) presided
the function and felicitation were showered by personalities representing Edavaka,
Church Organizations and Camps. Reply speeches were given by Achen and Kochamma
expressing their love and gratitude to all the Edavaka Members.
On 11 th April 2012, immediately after the Holy communion service, Ahmadi MTC
arranged a farewell meeting for Rev. Genil Abraham, Vicar of St. Johns Mar
Thoma Church who is going back to India after three years of dedicated service in
Kuwait. Goodbye to Genil Achen & Family.

MESSAGE FROM EDAVAKA SECRETARY
The month of May is here! Always May is a month of transition and absence of a
regular Vicar for our Edavaka. New Office bearers took the responsibility of
serving the Edavaka from April 2012 and God willing our new Kaisthana Samithy
will officially function after the next Edavaka Sanghom meeting. We need your
support and prayers. Along with you I am also enthusiastically looking forward to
our new Vicar Rev. Varughese K. A. Formalities like PCC, Medical, Stamping etc.
are in progress and we are expecting his arrival anytime in May 2012. No doubt,
this will be the month where God’s blessing on us manifests itself in the form of
a gifted and passionate shepherd to serve as our Vicar. Thanks be to God!
Our Holy week and Easter was very blessed, indeed. The services were powerful
and deeply meaningful and were well attended. We are grateful to Mahesh Achen
(Delhi Diocesan Secretary), Rt. Rev. Thomas K. Oommen (CSI, Bishop) and all who
were involved in anyway. Special thanks to Yuvajana Sakhyam who made all
necessary arrangements as in the past to serve the ‘Good Friday Kanji ’to all who
attended the service.
We know we’re not a perfect congregation. No congregation is perfect. There are
still ways for us to streamline the way we carry the gospel. There are still ways
for us to more enthusiastically fold newcomers into our midst. There are still
ways for us to keep the unity of our Parish this year. There are still ways for us to
become a tighter family. Let us remain diligent, both as individuals and as an
organization to face the spiritual and economic challenges ahead.
Let us take to heart how Paul ends his admonition to the believers in Rome: “And
now to Him who is able to establish us by the Gospel and the proclamation of
Jesus Christ… so that all nations might believe and obey Him, to the only wise
God be glory forever through Jesus Christ. Amen!”

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - 2012
Ahmadi Mar Thoma Parish is organizing this year’s VBS from 1 st -15 th June 2012
( 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm). The VBS logo and Theme for VBS -2012 was released by His
Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostam Valiya Metropolitan on
18 th April 2012 during the reception meeting for Valiya Tirumeni held at St. Paul’s
Church. “Get Set Go” is the Theme for VBS-2012. VBS Registration Forms are
available from Sunday School teachers and the registration fees is 3KD including
transportation. Mr. Ninan Varghese Chunakara from Mar Thoma Sunday School
Samajam is nominated as the VBS director. Those willing to serve as teachers
and volunteers may please contact Mr. Abey George, the General Convenor (Mob.
65071210). Teacher’s and Volunteer’s dedication will be held on Friday,18th May
2012, at our Church during the Holy Communion Service. All Edavaka members
are requested to pray and extent whole hearted support to the VBS.

VALIYA METROPOLITAN’S VISIT TO OUR EDAVAKA.
As a part of the 60th Anniversary Celebration of Mar Thoma Holy Communion Service
in Kuwait, H.G. The Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostam Valiya Metropolitan came
to our Edavaka on 18th April 2012 and conducted the Holy Qurbana in front of the
same Madhbaha (the Holy of Holies) where the first Holy Communion was conducted
60 years ago by himself. Rev. Chacko Thomas Achen along with our Vicar assisted the
Valiya Metropolitan in conducting the service. Sunday School students trained by
Sunday School Headmistress and Teachers stood both sides of the Aisle with burning
candles on their hand, greeted our Tirumeni as he walks graciously towards the Madhbaha.
This was a spectacular sight and moment in the history of Ahmadi Mar Thoma
Church. Thanks to all the Sunday School Teachers, Students and Parents who worked
tirelessly to make this function a grand success.
Immediately after the Holy Communion Service, a reception meeting was arranged to
express our love and gratitude towards our Valiya Metropolitan and to hear from the
Golden Tongue. To celebrate Tirumeni’s 95th Birthday, a Birthday Cake Cutting
function was arranged during the meeting. While Sunday School Students sang the
Birthday Song, Thirumeni cut the Cake and distributed to the children around him.
Special thanks to Ahmadi Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam for sponsoring the Birthday
Cake and made all arrangements for its distribution.
Diamond Jubilee Celebration to Commemorate
First Holy Communion Service
On Friday the 20th April 2012, Kuwait Mar Thoma Centre Joint Fellowship programme
to commemorate the 60 th anniversary of Mar Thoma Holy Qurbana, begins at 8:00 am
with a special prayer service from Ahmadi Mar Thoma Church followed by Holy Qurbana
at the Fintas Auditorium. Both these Services were jointly led by Valiya Metropolitan
and Rt. Rev. Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus Suffragan Metropolitan. Congratulations
to the General Convenor, Joint Convenor and all the Convenors from
Ahmadi MTC for their sincere efforts in conducting the Celebration in a grand way.
