(Ages 8-12) This new, third Thursday creative writing
series is for kids who love to write, as well as
those who are still finding their writer’s voice. An
instructor leads a warm-up and brainstorming session;
then a costumed actor joins the group to be
interviewed about being a pirate. Session ends with
a free-write (prose, poetry, or graphic novel).

(Ages 11-15) Camp covers the basics of fresh and
saltwater fishing (casting and rigging, knot tying,
selecting tackle and lures, and identifying fish).
This intensive program includes targeting specific
species of fish, reading the water, and navigation
safety. Scouts may earn their fishing merit badge.
All fishing gear and lifejackets provided. Campers
should dress to get wet, wear closed toe shoes, a
hat and sun block, and bring a packed lunch. Camp
meets at SCC and travels to private lakes, rivers,
and the bay.
