Community Services For High School<br />

Students – It’s never too early to get started on<br />

collecting your community service hours. Please<br />

contact us for current volunteer projects.<br />

Invasive Weed Removal - Go to war against<br />

invasive weeds! Work out by pulling garlic mustard<br />

and stomping Japanese honeysuckle into the mud.<br />

Instead of ripping your hair out from stress, take it<br />

out on invasive pests. Join the fight at Philip Bolen<br />

Memorial Park.<br />

NEW TRAILS OPEN!<br />

Did you know our park includes 200 acres of<br />

woods, meadows, and stream valleys? The first of<br />

our woodland and meadow trails are now open.<br />

Bring the family and see what we’ve done so far!<br />

Multiage hikes and interpretive programs<br />

For the following programs, children under six<br />

must be accompanied by an adult, unless noted.<br />

Minimum numbers required to run programs;<br />

please call or register in advance. All programs may<br />

include outside activities or a hike, please dress<br />

appropriately.<br />

CAMPFIRES AT BOLEN<br />

(All ages) Enjoy an evening in the park with the<br />

whole family. All of our campfires include a short<br />

interactive program or hike. You’ll definitely want<br />

to attend more than one! Come early and have a<br />

picnic. Bring blankets or chairs. We’ll bring the<br />

marshmallows and toasting sticks. Call 571-258-<br />

STROLLIN’ AT BOLEN<br />

(Ages 5 & up) Whether you want to walk in a creek,<br />

check out the butterflies and flowers, look to see<br />

who is using the birdhouses along the Bluebird<br />

Trail, or just check out nature, join the Bolen<br />

Strollers. Children under 6 must be accompanied<br />

by an adult. All classes start at 4:30 p.m. at the<br />

park office. Please call or check out park kiosks for<br />

the current schedule. Additional classes may be<br />

offered, subject to demand. Walk-ins are welcome,<br />

but minimum numbers are required to run programs.<br />

through our tree top canopy tour. Tackle the 50-foot<br />

climbing tower and check out the awesome view!<br />

leap from the 22-foot pamper pole? Come and<br />

TUBING ON THE ANTIETAM<br />

(Ages 8 & up) This 4-5 hour tubing trip has it all!<br />

You will begin your trip a quarter mile below the<br />

historic Burnside Bridge, and float through sections<br />

of Antietam National Battlefield. Your cares will float<br />

away on the riffles and ledges of this scenic, beginner<br />

whitewater stream. Transportation provided<br />

from Philip Bolen Memorial Park office. Bring lunch<br />

and water. No prior experience necessary.<br />

Philip Bolen Memorial Park office. No prior experience<br />
