The Area Agency on Aging provides the following<br />

GENERAL INFORMATION<br />
Activities & Fees*<br />
Three full-service senior centers and one senior<br />
activity center offer a variety of programs and<br />
activities for adults 55 and over. The annual<br />
membership fee covering July-June is $25/person<br />
($37.50/non-residents). In lieu of membership,<br />
seniors may pay a daily drop-in fee of $2.00<br />
($3.00/non-residents). Members receive lower<br />
rates for trips and classes, a monthly newsletter<br />
and membership privileges at all senior centers.<br />
There is a cost of $4/meal for adults under 60, and<br />
a suggested donation for adults 60 and over, for<br />
the congregate lunch program. *Membership and/<br />
or activity fees are subject to change based on the<br />
Board of Supervisors approval of the FY13 budget.<br />
Facility Rentals<br />
Attractive rental space is available for groups<br />
of all ages at three full service senior centers in<br />
Leesburg, Sterling and Purcellville for meetings,<br />
family reunions, special events, birthday parties<br />
and more. Please call the individual senior center<br />
for further information.<br />

Participants<br />
Our centers are open M-F from 7:30A-5:30P to<br />
provide a safe, social, and interactive environment<br />
for seniors with cognitive and/or physical disabilities<br />
who are unable to be home alone safely.<br />
Activities and services, designed to elicit success<br />
and enjoyment, include art and music therapy,<br />
individualized exercise, mentally stimulating games,<br />
assistance with personal needs, medication management,<br />
nutritious hot lunches and snacks, and<br />
health monitoring. Limited transportation is available<br />
to some areas. Fees are based on a sliding<br />
scale.<br />
Caregivers<br />
Adult Day Centers provide respite for those needing<br />
support and time away from care giving. Caregiver<br />
and Alzheimer support groups are available to<br />
provide insight, guidance, companionship, and<br />
resources.<br />
Through AAA’s Elder Resources program, a quarterly<br />
caregiver training series is available. For more<br />
