IDC Herzliya ≤∞∞∏≠≤∞∞π In this unique program, law students volunteer at the Neve Hadassah youth village in cooperation with the Massu’ah Institute for the Study of the Holocaust. The program provides law students with the opportunity to participate actively in preparations for a moot court on a legal issue related to the Holocaust and its implications today. The students will prepare groups of Neve Hadassah pupils for a moot court before a panel of judges at the IDC Herzliya campus. Law students, Neve Hadassah pupils and senior lawyers will participate in the moot court. For additional information contact attorney Iris Illotovitch-segal at segali@idc.ac.il 06 Community Service Projects "Massu'ah"- A moot court on the Holocaust* "Halev Bamishpat"* This project brings together law students and individuals whose rights were violated in some way but who do not have the means to turn to a lawyer for assistance in defending their rights. The project operates in cooperation with the movement for the fight against poverty in Israel. For additional information contact Ben Gal at bgal.tech@gmail.com "Ensemble", Students for Musical Education* This distinctive project provides talented pupils with free music lessons. As part of the project, IDC Herzliya students who are knowledgeable about music provide weekly classes to individual pupils and to groups of pupils at the conservatory in Herzliya’s Yad Hatisha neighborhood. Students interested in participating should email their resume, including their music education (instruments studied, years they studied, where they studied, etc.) to ensemble@idc.ac.il. "Ziv Ne'urim"* "Ziv Ne'urim" is a nonprofit organization established in 2000 by soldiers from Israel’s naval commando force in memory of their comrade in arms, Ziv Levy, who fell in the line of duty. The program’s goal is to improve the positive presence of youth both in the classroom and beyond by creating a supportive social environment and providing personalized guidance and challenging experiences, the majority of which involve the sea. IDC Herzliya ≤∞∞∏≠≤∞∞π "Chinuch L'psagot"* A nonprofit organization that focuses on education, nurtures pupils from underprivileged areas who demonstrate potential. It operates a comprehensive enrichment program that accompanies the pupils from second grade through the end of high school and prepares them for higher education. For additional information contact Rami Meklada at rami@college4all.org "Tzeva"* Is a nonprofit social and educational organization whose volunteers operate 35 enrichment centers all over Israel. The centers provide educational, social and emotional support to third grade to sixth grade pupils of limited financial means. Students mentor the pupils by forging a strong personal relationship with them and helping them in the educational, social and emotional spheres. Activities are based on a combination of personal attention to each pupil and group activities in which the entire group provides support for each member. For information, contact the project’s coordinator, Liran Rubin at tel. 054-2232214, www.tzeva.org.il "Tsemach"* "Tsemach" is a movement founded by students in order to encourage dialogue on values between college students and high-school pupils in order to strengthen the pupils’ sense of identity in particular and identification with the values of Israeli society among Israeli citizens in general. The activities encourage the pupils to perform military service, national service or some other volunteer service. For additional information contact sendana4@gmail.com "Derech Ha'Galim"* "Derech Ha'Galim" is an educational and water sports center, that is located in Herzliya, which is dedicated to at-risk youth, with the goal of fulfilling their needs. One of the main objectives is to help the youths close the large gaps in their education that were developed over the years and help them succeed academically. Students participate in the educational aspect of the program, helping eighth- and ninth-grade boys from various Herzliya schools to complete their homework and prepare for tests. Law Students Serving the Community* In this project, volunteer work is accompanied by theoretical studies and discussions on the role of the lawyer and of the individual in society. Students in the project will volunteer in courts and the executioner’s office, providing assistance to petitioners without legal representation, as well as teach law to eighth-grade pupils of limited means at the Neve Hadassah youth village on law.
