Campus Life
As an educational institution which emphasizes the values of freedom of
action and taking responsibility for the community, as well as initiative and
excellence, IDC Herzliya encourages students to be active in a wide range
of areas in addition to their studies, and offers a variety of community
service projects for students to participate in. It is our belief that promoting
assistance to others and personal involvement in the community
will lead our students to make community service and contributing to
society part of their lives in the future. In addition, and similarly to most
leading universities around the world, IDC Herzliya offers a variety of
social activities to enrich student life, always striving to focus on the
wellbeing of the individual student.
Students Serving the Community*
The project consists of four community service programs for students,
including: teaching basic study skills and leading a variety of enrichment
activities for preschool children from underprivileged neighborhoods in
Herzliya, in order to help their transition into first grade successfully and
thus help reduce socioeconomic gaps in Israel; tutoring middle-school and
high-school pupils of limited financial means in Herzliya who are struggling
academically in order to prepare them for the matriculation exams, which
are the gateway to obtaining a higher education; and initiating, planning and
implementing social activities for various target populations in Herzliya,
particularly children, youth and senior citizens, as well as mentoring new
drivers and their families in order to reduce traffic accidents.
