The Institute for Alternative Energy Policy (IAEP) at the Lauder School of Government,<br />

Diplomacy and Strategy<br />

IAEP was established with the goal of positioning Israel as a world leader in this field. In order<br />

to achieve this goal, IAEP helps formulate policy based on in-depth interdisciplinary research.<br />

The technological, economic, environmental and regulatory aspects of Israeli developments in<br />

the field of alternative energy are examined by leading experts on behalf of IAEP. IAEP has an<br />

international think tank composed of analysts and experts in a variety of fields such as energy<br />

economy, alternative energy policy, environment, project financing, industry and strategic<br />

research. IAEP cooperates with the U.S. National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). IAEP<br />

provides policymakers with analytic tools based on its research in order to formulate progressive<br />

policy that will help promising Israeli technologies in the field of alternative energy enter the<br />

international marketplace and take on a leading role.<br />

Volunteering at IAEP*<br />

IAEP provides students the opportunity to volunteer to perform research under the personal<br />

supervision of IAEP’s staff of experts. The project is open to students at the Lauder School of<br />

Government. <strong>Student</strong>s interested in applying should email their resume to Dr. Isaac Berzin at<br />

Caesarea Edmond Benjamin de Rothschild Center for Capital Markets and Risk<br />

Management at the Arison school of business<br />

The Caesarea Center was established in order to advance and promote the efficiency of the<br />

Israeli capital market, to provide a source of cutting-edge knowledge on the capital market, and<br />

to serve as a platform for discussions and meetings that promote productive interaction<br />

between the business and academic worlds. The Caesarea Center brings together the best<br />

lecturers, researchers and businesspeople from Israel and abroad to participate in its executive<br />

workshops, study programs, seminars and public discussions. The Caesarea Center offers<br />

undergraduate students the opportunity to minor in financial risk management. The courses and<br />

entrance requirements are outlined in the <strong>IDC</strong> <strong>Herzliya</strong> <strong>Student</strong> Handbook.<br />

Global Research in International Affairs (GLORIA) Center at the Lauder School<br />

of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy<br />

The GLORIA Center conducts analysis and research on topics concerning the Middle East<br />

arena in particular and international relations in general. It operates many projects including:<br />

MERIA, the leading online academic journal on Middle East research; COVENANT, an online<br />

academic journal on issues relevant to the Jewish people; the Turkish Studies Institute; and the<br />

Project for the Research of Islamist Movements (PRISM). These projects are useful resources<br />

for students. The GLORIA Center publishes articles in leading newspapers around the world<br />

and is involved in the publication of dozens of books in cooperation with major international<br />

publishing houses. In addition, the GLORIA Center is involved in many research initiatives and<br />
