More continuous vocals commencing at 1018 but rapidly fading. Fair at tune in. 4905 BRAZIL. UNID, 0153-0247* Mar 19, soft instrumental music and vocals with occasional announcements by a man announcer. Sounded like Portuguese but too weak to be sure. Off without any announcements mid-song. Weak-Poor. Anhanguera? 6110 ETHIOPIA. Radio Fana, 0332-0422 Mar 31, nice program of lively Horn of Africa vocals hosted by a man announcer with talks in presumed Amharic language. ID at 0400 followed by news with brief music segments between items. Program of talk followed the news as signal began fading out. Fair but just about gone at tune out. 6165 CHAD. Radio Chad, 2227-2301* Mar 19, nice program of lively local music and vocals hosted by a man announcer with occasional French language talks. Program continued up to 2259 when another man announcer gave ID and closedown announcements prior to orchestra National Anthem. Poor to fair. 6250 EQUATORIAL GUINEA. Radio Nacional – Malabo, 0536-0553 Mar 14, vocals by a male singer followed by a man announcer with Spanish talk mentioning Malabo several times during segment of local news items. More vocals by another male singer at 0549. Poor to fair. 7125 GUINEA. Radio Télévision Guinée, 0724-0748* Mar 28, nice selection of highlife vocals and instrumentals with a man announcer with French language talks, ID mentions of music programming. Poor to fair but carrier cut mysteriously at 0748 without any announcements. 7200 SUDAN. Radio Omdurman, 0406-0430* Mar 25, man announcer with news in Arabic. ID at 0409 followed by more news. Brief instrumental music followed by various talks by several men and a woman until carrier cut mid-sentence at 0430. Fair. 7350 CLANDESTINE (Nigeria). Hamada Radio International via Wertachtal, 0551-0559* Mar 14, man talking in local Nigerian language with several clear IDs and announcements. More talks by another man with drum music between segments. Woman announcer with closing ID and drums. Fair. 7395 CYPRUS. BBC World Service, *0100-0116 Apr 3, caught time pips opening followed by World Service ID by a woman announcer in English followed by program promo, news with nice ”BBC News” ID at 0106. This was followed by the program The Forum. 9460 SEYCHELLES. BBC – Mahe, 0336-0401 Mar 19, ID followed by various news features in English with several different announcers. Time pips at 0400 as signal was buried in noise. Poor at best. 9555 SAUDI ARABIA. BSKSA, 2249-2257* Apr 6, man with Middle Eastern vocals until audio cut at 2256; carrier terminated at 2257. Good signal. 9580 GABON. African Numero Un, 2252-2301* Apr 6, two men with French language talk. ID by man announcer at 2257 followed by soft instrumental music. A woman gave final ID, frequency and closedown announcements at 2259 over xylophone instrumental music. Closed with another ID and TC followed by time pips at 2300 which was the last of the audio. Carrier stayed on for about another minute before being terminated. Poor to fair. 9690 NIGERIA. Radio Nigeria, 0837-0907 Mar 16, two men with a discussion in a local African language followed by tribal vocals. More talk with a man and woman with frequent mentions of Nigeria. More vocals followed by a man with ID at 0852. News at 0900 but starting to fade badly. Poor to fair. 9870 CLANDESTINE (Zimbabwe). Radio Voice of the People – Madagascar, *0400-0422 Apr 5, man with opening ID joined by a woman announcer with opening announcements in African language. Man with news followed. Short vocal segment after news followed by an interview with a man over the phone. Poor on this new frequency. 11815 BRAZIL. Radio Brasil Central, 0235-0251 Apr 9, woman announcer with Portuguese talk hosting a program of lively Brazilian pop tunes. At 0246 canned ID, ads and jingle ID followed by more music. Good signal. 15190 EQUATORIAL GUINEA. Radio Africa – Bata, 2015-2047 Mar 19, man preaching in English for a long time until religious vocals selection by a woman. Change of program around 2044 without station ID.
