Given the many steps that may be needed to<br />
obtain a stay of execution, it makes sense for<br />
a party facing a risk of an adverse judgment<br />
to contemplate how to get a stay before the<br />
need actually arises. At the very least, counsel<br />
should become familiar with the process and the<br />
resources available to his or her client in case a<br />
stay of execution is suddenly needed.<br />
