For the seekers <strong>and</strong> practitioners<br />

<strong>of</strong> the magnificent science <strong>of</strong><br />

engineering<br />

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE BENEFICENT,<br />

THE MERCIFUL<br />

You shall be honest, faithful <strong>and</strong> just, <strong>and</strong> shall not act in any<br />

manner derogatory to the honor, integrity <strong>and</strong><br />

dignity <strong>of</strong> the engineering pr<strong>of</strong>ession.<br />

You shall not injure, maliciously, directly or indirectly, the<br />

reputation or employment <strong>of</strong> another engineer, nor<br />

shall you fail to act equitably while performing pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

duty.<br />

You shall use your knowledge <strong>and</strong> skill <strong>of</strong> engineering for<br />

human welfare, <strong>and</strong> render pr<strong>of</strong>essional service <strong>and</strong><br />

advance, which reflects your best pr<strong>of</strong>essional service <strong>and</strong><br />

advance, which reflects your best pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

judgment.<br />

You shall not abuse your position or power, nor accept illegal<br />

gratification <strong>of</strong> any sort.<br />

You shall faithfully observe <strong>and</strong> fulfill all your obligations.<br />

You shall express your opinion on engineering or other<br />

matters in a frank, open <strong>and</strong> straightforward manner.<br />

You shall not criticize another engineer’s work without his<br />

knowledge nor malign, or injure his pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />

reputation.<br />

You shall not ridicule fellow engineers nor let one discipline<br />

<strong>of</strong> engineering derides other disciplines or<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essions.<br />

You shall not directly or indirectly discredit other engineers<br />

nor assign (derogatory) epithets to their persons<br />

or work.<br />

Your pr<strong>of</strong>essional advice shall be based on full knowledge <strong>of</strong><br />

the facts <strong>and</strong> honest conviction, <strong>and</strong> you shall<br />

not write articles or advertise in self-laudatory or in any<br />

manner derogatory to the dignity <strong>of</strong> the pr<strong>of</strong>ession.<br />

You shall ascertain facts before accepting them <strong>and</strong> shall not<br />

encourage or cause others to carry tales.<br />

Credulity is no credit.<br />

You shall help one another in upholding <strong>and</strong> doing that is<br />

right, <strong>and</strong> shall not associate with those who<br />

transgress <strong>and</strong> those who indulge in unethical practices.<br />

You shall be kind <strong>and</strong> considerate to others <strong>and</strong> shall not fail<br />

to be cooperative <strong>and</strong> accommodating.<br />

You shall decide matters <strong>of</strong> common pr<strong>of</strong>essional interest by<br />

mutual consultation.
